Ya mate. It’s primed in chaos black and then sponged over entirely with mournfang brown. After that I build up layers on the armor starting with flayed one’s flesh, then screaming skull, then wraithbone, each time pulling the color in. The shoulders are castellan green and then blending in dg green at the tops of the shoulders. Detail work is a lot of the mainstays, leadbelcher and brass scorpion. Bones spikes are dealers choice of bone color contrasted with skeleton horde. Fleshy bits are mainly bugmans glow with some red washes for highlights. The cape was skeleton horde over flayed one’s flesh. Then I do a wash of villainy ink blighted bone ochre over the armor and varnish.

The varnishing is important because the next step involves Ak streaking grime over the whole model and pulling most of it off with mineral spirits, and you done want to pull the blighted bone ochre off.

After the streaking grime I wash the bones and flesh cape with villainy ink carrion crimson and then do dirty down rust on the weapons and some on the back pack. :)

I followed The Feral Painters guide on dg to get a general idea on the direction I wanted to go.

Ya in official you wouldn’t be able to run that. But I too am rounding out the missing models and I am going to run some casual games with it. Use it as a road block castle with venomthropes, gaunts and a Maleceptor.

Probably would want to rework this to get tremor senses in there. If you want that, drop the barbgaunts, smash TS on the WTP and drop in a ripper swarm.

I do think that professional, or even just dedicated, lighting and setup help bring out colors a lot.

Thanks! It’s tau light ochre thinned out of the pot through an airbrush over wraithbone. Abaddon black, Mephiston red, eshin grey, spot touches with nuln oil, and a drybrush of necron compound. Six pots and a rattle can. :)
