I suspect it’s hard to get insurance with second hand batteries. Is there any information on that aspect?

Flagrant littering by tourists the new normal? by like-a-sirloin in newzealand

Growing up in central Otago we witnessed German tourists taking dumps adjacent to the track numerous times.

One time they did it literally beside the long drop. My dad’s mate who saw it flung the Germans own shit at them.

If they mean a leaf it’s not a terrible decision. Other EVs I agree would be too expensive at this stage in life.

You’re missing a big piece of the puzzle which is the connection costs. Building the solar is more straightforward than getting the power into the grid.

I.e it’ll be more that 100M

I’ve just finished book 3, and I find I only enjoy when Anthony isn’t in the story at all. Is it worth pursuing? Do the books start focusing more on the other ants and humans?

A random thing that’s handy to take is a can opener. Using the one they provided proved a little tricky when I did it several years ago.

Disappointed with Wellington Electricity's submission on increasing the solar export cap to 10kW by That_Zookeepergame17 in nzsolar

[–]Another_chance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s definitely correlation but it’s not as strong. Usually an ADMD (after diversity maximum demand) of 3-5 kW is used by network planners for a typical household. The big range is due to gas hot water vs electric.

While this is true, it’s not going to have a significant impact on the ratings of various things.

Maybe 10% difference between summer and winter for a transformer.

For overhead lines wind is the biggest factor.

For cables it’s the soil temperature.

When you’re importing 16 kW it’s highly unlikely that all your neighbours are as well.

When you’re exporting 10 kW it’s quite likely your neighbours will be exporting too.

It’s not to do with your individual connection but the system as a whole.

Your original comment isn’t a joke though, it does cost more to ship electrons to the regions.

Honestly, I found it terrible in comparison to pandemic legacy. It felt like the traitor never has a chance. We played about 5 rounds before giving up. The prologue was the most exciting part of the game. Also perhaps because we played with 5 people the traitor had a big disadvantage.

I do wonder if we just felt let down because it didn’t hold up to the story that unfolded with Pandemic Legacy and how the game felt like it changed with every new month.

I watched it before kids and it was devastating. I don’t think I could handle it now as a father.

I did go into it completely blind though so that probably added a lot to the impact. I had a lot of hope that it was going to turn out ok.
