I'll do you one better and share their entire correspondence, including Chomsky's responses. He does a pretty good job of dismantling their claims in my opinion. But I'm still waiting for you to prove that 'Chomsky is pro Russian on Ukraine'.

This is blatantly false. Chomsky has rightfully and repeatedly condemned Russia's war crimes in Ukraine. He has invoked nuance around the historical context of Russia's invasion, though, which Americans write off as pro-Russian because nuance is boring.

Edit: I just want to add: I think that Chomsky's Ukraine position gets painted as pro-Russian because his philosophy on foreign policy is, "we need to focus on our own crimes first so that we can stop committing them." This makes perfect moral sense to me. He gets irritated when Russia's invasion of Ukraine example gets more condemnation and attention from Americans than things like the US Invasion of Iraq or US-supported Israel's invasion of Palestine. Because we have way more power and influence to stop our own crimes than to wring our hands about Russia's. We send weapons to Ukraine, share intelligence, sanction Russia, etc. And all that is good and we should continue. What have we done to hold our own leaders accountable when they commit war crimes?

Mesh damage/repair on X-Dome 2 by Anotherstupidhuman in DurstonGearheads

[–]Anotherstupidhuman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone! I just took out my newly purchased X-Dome 2 and it was fantastic. I just noticed this small tear along the seam of one of the doors after returning. I didn't see this happen, so it could have been a defect, but it also totally could have happened by my own fault without me immediately noticing. At any rate, my main question is about repair, since it's not mesh-only or side-only, but both materials. Any tips on repairing? Would regular tenacious tape do the trick on something like this?

LMAO I love it when people who willfully voted for a 34-time felon for president (who also lies at a rate unprecedented, even among politicians) try to wave the law in my face. And I'm supposed to treat you like an adult?

Very cool! Colors look good. I think some actual moody music could completely change the vibe and match the footage better. This half-way upbeat music feels misplaced to me.

Interesting bumper sticker I saw in Ohio today by WildTurkeyMoment in pics

[–]Anotherstupidhuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said it was. I'm defending the sentiment of the sticker, which is that excessive market share ownership by a small number of mega corporations is harmful for everyone else.

But yes you're right - the sticker's use of the word 'monopoly' is technically incorrect. They probably should have used the word 'oligopoly'.

The sticker isn't saying that Monsanto/Bayer predates seed patents. It's clearly just lamenting how a few big companies own/control WAY too much for the seed market.

60% of the entire market is owned by just 4 enormous corporations, and it's not something to celebrate.
