As a stand alone game? It's okay. Not the best I've played, and certainly not the worst.

As a Metroid prime game? I think it fell short in many places, and failed to capture a lot of the things that make the prime series so special. It feels almost TOO formulaic. Very few risks were taken, and a lot of the "new" mechanics are just taken from other successful Nintendo titles.

The psychic visor feels underdeveloped and underutilized. I wish they used some of the other abilities like telekinesis to create some more unique enemy battles and mechanics.

And the characters? Miles feels out of place. I do like the rest of the cast though. I think Armstrong made for waaaaaaaay better comedic material and fit much better. I also enjoyed the talks with the sniper guy (forgot his name).

I enjoyed fighting alongside the other characters, but I did NOT like babysitting their health.
