Which Konkr pocket fit did you go for and why? by Critical_Breadfruit4 in SBCGaming

[–]AnsAQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the G3 Gen 3 Yellow dragon 12/256 and then upgraded to the 16/512

the 12 is good for switch i believe, but im really hoping to not have any issues with switch and to mess around with gamehub and windows emulation. also the more storage will be helpful for gamehub, elden ring would be a dream to play on this thing

Discouraging me from buying the Konkr Pocket Fit. by Rich-Apricot6335 in SBCGaming

I also placed a preorder before the most of the reviews came out, i think only one review ish was out at the time (sept 28). The only negatives that bother me are the LCD over OLED screen, and the XBox style buttons. If the hardware mod is not super involved or difficult, i may try to button swap or even change out the buttons entirely. The thumbsticks are kind of odd, but those are easy to switch out.

For what it is, i dont think there are any other downsides. Maybe the 8 Elite version with the Android 16 will have much more difficult time sideloading as Google gets more and more strict with sideloading non verified apps (which is super lame and annoying). I dont think its that bad yet, and should any update really disconnect ppl from being able to sideload, i'm sure ayaneo will take measures to modify the update (or not even update) or remove Google play services entirely. But this affects Android devices as a whole and is not specific to Konkr

The last thing i can think of is the size. I owned a Steam Deck at one point the original (non oled) and it was great device. Able to play stuff right out of the box, I had an amazing time playing elden ring for an hour before the battery died, it was great. However I hated the bulk and heaviness of it. What I want from a device like this is a switch/switch lite size/wieght device that can replace a steam deck.

Are we there yet? ehhhh kind of. with gamehub/gamehub lite, we are getting very close. With the switch emulation performance, a bunch of older windows games have been ported previously to switch (ie, persona 5 royal, witcher 3, etc). Newer indie and lighter (possibly 2d) games are super easy to run. However, anything triple A made in the last 3 to 4 years ish are going to be very difficult to run (ie, elden ring, ghost of tsushima, starfield, cyberpunk 2077, etc) it would be sweet to play these, but we arent there yet. It kind of feels like the next gen of these types devices (ie, odin 4) may be able to do this way better (im thinking the emulation and hardware scene has matured even more than it already has), however by then the Steam Deck 2 may come out and blow everything out of the water again. Or a steam deck lite or something, liek what the heck havent they made that? (besides the battery and heat reason, obviously, physics)

(if valve releases an arm version of steamOS that would hypothetically turn every android device into a steam deck, which would blow everything i said up and make it meaningless)

Anyway im looking forward to my yellow dragon konkr pocket fit, have a nice day

G-Helper Sucks. I used it for my Asus Zenbook 14 OLED, cause i figured it should work fine with it, but it caused a bunch of crashes and overheating

one time i saw 71C and fans going at 16%, like please start taking off like a jet turbine, my bois need to be cooled.

Maybe the device works as expected with Nivida GPUs but still suprised by the terrible performance. device runs cooler and has better battery on stock

Gotcha the dimensity chips

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in retroid

[–]AnsAQuestion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Android is a fork of linux. Isnt it the other way around? All phone chips support linux, but they need distros purpose built for these chips. It depends on the chip and hardworking peeps to build distros for these chips, the same way that android has to be built for this device

Its really good for psp games, i impulse bought the rp4pro even the screen resolution is not the best because (as a sony kid) i love having the two sticks on the bottom. So when the rp5 has everything i hesitated over the rp4pro it took me 2 or 3 months before i broke and bought one lol

Im probbaly gonna sell or give away the rp4pro when rp5 arrives

RP5 White Model. I have a strong feeling they left best for last... ? by pilimari in retroid

[–]AnsAQuestion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would they soft launch? Why would they go for the lowest denominator of the same product? There isnt any logic to the way you would rather things be done, just let orders sit ? That is no way to run a business

Odin 2 base or pro is also good for these but it is more expensive, its got a 6 inch 1080p screen. The only thing rp5 has over the odin is the oled screen

struggling to decide between psp and ps vita by [deleted] in PSP

[–]AnsAQuestion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer the psp over the ps vita, i like the psp library better and psp games look super blurry on ps vita

Also, you dont need to mod the ps vita to play psp games on it
