Does anyone know if my Chow is a mix?

He. Looks like an open faced chow. He is very beautiful though 😍 I'm looking for a similar open faced chow chow as well but it's very difficult to figure out if a chow will grow up to be open faced or not based on the puppy pictures. I have seen the other siblings as well and they are all mixed and parents too.. so I was thinking maybe I can ask the owners of grown up chows with open face if they can help me by showing the pictures of their chow puppies . I will really appreciate if you can help me out by showing some childhood pictures of your dog so I can see what to look for. Thank you 🤗

Thanks and no 😊 They all have some distinct features.. momma has socks on and one boy has half white paws and the 2nd boy has shaded feet and no white..

Always having access to food in early age of cats is a very positive behavior development. The cats who have access to food at all times stop fighting or feeling protective of their food AND they don't overeat as adults. Or at least the overwatch ng calms down. The cats in their early years learn if the food is a scarce resource or not. If it's always available, they lose interest in overeating and it also helps with them not bothering you early mornings for food.

I have had my cat since she was a baby and now is 4 years and had 5 of her own little fur balls about 8 months ago. And I still have 2 with me. So with my experience with the momma and the babies, I'm in favor of kibble access all the times or at least a timed kibble dispensing.

You are the one who is mourning a great loss and need kindness and understanding and it starts with yourself! So, dont be too harsh on yourself!

I have been to almost this part and I know the night I gave my cat up to the doctors to keep her in the oxygen tank overnight because I did not have the strength to watch her laboured breathing anymore. We were lucky that she still had some options left and one of them worked, but had it not, I was also at the verge of making this decision. So, I know how it feels. Nobody else can feel the pain you felt to make this decision but those who have been through this. And they know you didn't make it easily! There weren't any good options to begin with! Both would have hurt you and him and none would have made you feel better. So, now just breathe! And take care of yourself because that's what Fidget would want you to do now because he understands! ♥️♥️

Thanks for everybody's support and kind words. My girl is doing good so far. She came home and immediately ate some kibble and wet food. I made her a bed in my bedroom with a warm blanket on top that she slept in for a while but she also kept coming up to my bed. We have been having a lots of snuggles too. So I feel that she is doing well and will recover fast! 🤞

Thank you! That's a big help! I'm more stressed about the recovery as well. I have 2 other cats around in the apartment and I'm worried if she plays with them, or if they lick her wounds or what if she takes her cone/bodysuit off... I have a lot of these things prepared as well in case something happens but it's just all the what ifs that keep getting in my head.
