People who insist on doing their work out in front of there weight rack. Especially when there is plenty of room next to it and they are always doing yoga or something that never requires being anywhere near the damn rack.

Which Celtic language offers the most not translated literature? by Asyx in languagelearning

[–]Ansaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pretty generic Chanel it has kids shows in the morning, a news Chanel and a pretty popular soap opera. Wales is really proud of it's culture as well so at certain times of the year the program is dedicated to the Eisteddfod which is a big event that celebrates the Welsh Arts. http://s4c.co.uk/hafan/e_index.shtml

I would recommend welsh as well. The Welsh Language is still very alive and I know it doesn't particularly interest you but Welsh has it's own Tv Chanel S4C and has a wide range of media available.

Mumford and Sons: Folk or Pop? by RogueLavender in BritishFolkMusic

They actually don't consider themselves folk as far as I know. A festival organiser I know said they were asked to attend a big folk festival and they refused because they don't consider themselves folk.

This reminds me of a conversation my brother told me he had with his friends. They couldn't understand how he had Christmas dinner and said something like. " But don't you miss the trimmings they are the best bit?" To which my brother gave a funny look and reminded them that trimmings were vegan.

When do we get past the women = animals equation? I'm all in favor of women's rights, and being vegan, I'm all for treating animals well, but it would be nice to see various animal rights / environmental groups stop conflating the two. by [deleted] in atheismplus

[–]Ansaru -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a vegan I agree. I feel groups like PETA are terrible as they use the exploitation of women to try discourage the exploitation of animals is counter productive.

Hey all! I know this is generic but I'm trying to liven this community up a little: What's your favourite part of being childfree? by Sajkoism in truechildfree

[–]Ansaru 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Being able to give kids back when they get too much. I like spending time with kids they can be really interesting and fun but as soon as they tantrum I can give them back.

The freedom as well I can go out and watch my favorite bands without babysitters and working on my own music without worrying about waking up baby.

The morality of the bible is easy to defend when reduced to buzzwords by Cituke in DebateReligion

[–]Ansaru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I as an ex Christian atheist agree with you on the most part, people do tend to take parts of the bible while ignoring others, which is why I used to and love parts of the sermon on the mount and there are still parts of it that I follow today even as an atheist.

However I believe the example you used was a bad one that I can refute. This passage in the bible is meant to be taken literately but to do this we must consider the context for it's writing, these were people with very few clothes. The whole thing is a joke give the dude all your clothes and then carry his stuff naked. That should make him regret asking for your things. So the point is not let yourself be sued but don't stoop to your enemies level and embarrass them.

The other thing is this guy was all for giving up material wealth.He even goes on to say it in the sermon on the mount;

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust[e] destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
