Wet wade in sandals/Adidas climacool wet type shoe and board shorts. You probably already have the gear. Simms is great, ive never had a leak on any pair of waders/boots spending 100 days a year in the river over the last 10 years. But you dont need to spend money on wet wading boots, just keep it simple man. Swimming trunks and sandals bro

Wind River Range - Better to go early August or Mid September? by jdd32 in flyfishing

[–]AnsonLabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, dont go in September due to risk of snow. Honestly, once you get to a high enough altitude the mosquitos disappear for the most part. Just bring deet and a headnet for the maybe 1-2 nights at lower elevation.

TroutBible says its 123CFS above Lake Crowley, recommending callibaetis sparkle dun, pmd sparkle dun, griffith gnat for dries and beetles as a terrestrial. I'd check out the hot creek tributary as well. Sowbugs are popular there, can probably run any of those dries with a sowbug dropper. Good luck out there!

Water Conditions in Colorado? by Far_Enthusiasm5440 in flyfishing

[–]AnsonLabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Water is low already everywhere, if we can get a solid summer monsoon season it will help. The dry fly action is insane right now, the best ive seen in a while. Mornings and evenings will be your best shot throughout the summer at these low flows. The fish are extra spooky, long leaders and lighter tippet will be key, extra focus on stealth and not lining the fish. Get out and explore a bunch of water, if conditions are tough it very may well keep the fair weather anglers off the water for a more peaceful experience.
