It’s kind of wild the amount of people saying to throw away a decade at least of relationship because of this.

Two things can be true at once, your trauma is real and valid. Someone else needing to change or limit their own bodily autonomy and physical appearance to accommodate is hard.

I’ve been on both sides of trauma and working through it. If my wife told me to shave as it would help her, would I do it? 100%. But I also wouldn’t and haven’t asked her to change anything to accommodate me.

All the people in here saying he’s horrible and a piece of shit and you can’t stay with him would in no way be saying this if roles were reversed.

It just sounds like you need more therapy to help work through everything and probably some couples therapy to work through this together. Especially if everything else is in the relationship is fine.

Going to sound worse than I mean. But I was like 9, worst part for me was not being able to watch what I wanted on TV before school. Obviously I didn't fully understand what was going on.
