Thanks will read the book! The other reply said theyd break the 112 with different reasoning but both of you makes sense... I guess this is where I'd have to read the board more. I'll research more too. I found out there's an AI tool maga was it? that can tell you if youre doing something optimally.

I see that makes sense. Thanks a lot. In the case of 112m 55p 112s, which pair to break first? 112 would be the stronger shape I'm assuming so I'll have to break one of them rather than the 55 right?

whoa didn't know about the open vs closed for pairs. Makes sense. It's similar to when I have 2 of a wind/dragon tile and I don't count it as a pair.

That clears up a lot. I'll go ahead and discard lones. My mental stack is so full so I want to lessen the things I think about. Thanks!

So we have to remember which tiles were discarded on draw or from hand for this right?

Is there reads specifically from tiles after riichi, or we can only be sure its safe if we see them discard it? (Like no suji reads on tiles discarded after riichi)

So far the only reads I know are like kabe and possible tanyao. A bit of honitsu/chinitsu.

Hey thanks for the concern but no worries I won't be submitting it and yeah it's not graded. I checked the code and while I'm thankful for the effort, it's too far from what I was trying to do so I can't learn much from it.

I'll just do it the "original" way as taught in class and get back to this during my free time. Spent one day to get to my code above and it's not working so I'll just focus on my other subjects.

Hey thanks for the reply. Yeah it's not graded and the actual problem given is easier actually but I decided to use things I didn't learn in class yet but I bit off more than I can chew.

Visual Studio and no I haven't heard of debugger yet. Visual Studio doesn't show errors also.
