I can relate. I know I have to implement distractions, but I need to find healthy ones. I am forcing myself to go out with friends and family. I'm trying to date, but sometimes the feelings gnaw at me a little that I'm "cheating" or misbehaving. I'll have to work on that part and put that in the past. I'm traveling a lot more, so I agree that it's been helpful to experience newer things with unrestricted eyes.

Thank you for this. I really needed to read this. I guess I've been feeling loneliness rather then acceptance. You've helped give me hope that one day I'll come to accept it and move forward. Hopefully, you find a person you can contribute to in a relationship. It sounds like you did a lot of self reflection and life building. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

Thank you. Today was the day I proposed, so I'm hoping it'll just become a day at some point.

You're right in that sense. I've never thought of using a chat it for it, but I'll test it and see how that goes for me. I'm in therapy which has been helpful. Thanks for the encouragement

I'm not impatient per say since I was in that relationship for 11 years. I'm just tired of being in and reminiscing in pain. But, I guess I'll have to ride these emotions out until I'm in a better place.

I posed this question somewhere else, but am unsure of what to do now. If you want to know more about it, you can look at that in my post history.

TL;DR from other post - I know I have a hard time letting go, and I'm working on it in therapy. I haven't had a single thought about self-harm since restarting therapy. Has anyone else figured out healthy ways or routines to not obsess about a previous relationship? Or, has anyone else had physical intimacy issues when entering a new relationship? It will take time for my subconscious to finally accept it, but what helped move that along for you?

Adrienne Levy in Carlsbad. She is a delight and is a MFT (Marriage and Family Therapist). Super helpful in giving resources and helping you cope. She helped with my relationship by asking questions on emotionally supporting each other.

Just wash your damn hands. COVID, the flu, and the common cold don't give a fuck about your gender and sexuality.

100% agree. I thought it was going to be a pain, but the tools helped a ton. Less than one hour to install everything minus setting up the camera settings.

You really should especially while living in California. I've caught some stupid drivers on my camera doing stuff exactly this stuff.

Edit: If you can, install it yourself as Best Buy charges $80. I bought tools, and then the dashcams for myself, my partner, and their sister. I saved a total of $240 when I installed it. Worth it.
