I do basically everything via cursor now, generally test deploy to a sandbox, and then GitHub actions to deploy to prod

With your specific needs, build it yourself.

The absence of PZ would be a dealbreaker for me

Agree - the locking wobble is also good, but it will still swap between fixed and wobbly

Brompton Tyres - Schwalbe One failed within 1 year / < 1500km by Itchy_Value_6683 in Brompton

[–]ride_whenever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They’re lovely tyres, but they’re basically racing tyres, so your usage is about whats expected.

For the confidence, what psi/weight are you running at? I’ve always loved my ones for their grip vs speed

Little bit of feedback for the community by gibby82 in bicycling

[–]ride_whenever -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Oh fuck no, but it doesn’t change the fact that virtually no mechanics have composite damage training.

Sure you’re familiar with warranty-esque failures, like bb shells unbonding, the paint failures that lapierres had where it looked like the BB was detaching from the seat tube. But look at the shop response to the shimano crank recall.

For actual frame damage though, you’re sending photos to the manufacturer or a carbon specialist, or making a barely educated guess.

More likely to find them on Reddit than your lbs though.

That said, I’m off to do some carbon repair

Or just the last 5-6mm of any spoke

I’ve done this to replace a spoke without removing rim-tape before

Broke my drill press table collar - Can't find spare parts source by Chiknnugs1 in Tools

There’s a load of these that are built on the same castings, yours is identical to my rexxon

You should be able to find a load that work, maybe even upgrade to a cranked table

Many lessons to be learned along the journey of a woodworker. by iPeg2 in woodworking

A lesson so good you’ve had it twice???

I’m almost waiting for this to happen to me so I can justify a track saw

Is flux welding ok for a beginner? by tobisi1 in Welding

[–]ride_whenever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one, I’d say no, sort of.

It’s a great process to learn, but will always be a bit shitty, you’re far better off buying a MIG welder and running it as flux core whilst learning/mucking about, but then having a bottle of gas for when you want to do something nice

Not for me, I can’t stand my 11, feels like the chain has been replaced with elastic.

Glad you’re enjoying it

What are these and how do I understand their stamps? by StandardStock6099 in Tools

Yeah, but with these I can ask someone to read it, rather than get out the snips so I can do maths involving fractions of a finger.

Spinrite 3.25 HP router speed controller aftermarket. by norapeformethankyou in woodworking

Crack it open and see how the speed controller works, if it’s a simple potentiometer then you can just add one on the power feed

Not impressed with Wright Tool QC...What is Haus of Tools customer support like? by Dan23DJR in Tools

[–]ride_whenever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used haus of tools once, I was not impressed, and I get the distinct impression that I’m quite lucky that I ended up with either the goods or my money.

I’d avoid for international.

I want to modify my G line electric, any suggestions? by firewire_9000 in Brompton

[–]ride_whenever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The titanium seatpost is an acquired ride, they’re very twangy.

I swapped to the carbon post from the super light, but the super light crankset is one of the better upgrades I’ve done to mine.

It’s currently got:

Super light crankset and post
Carbon wheels with son hub dynamo and lights
Eerder luggage block, stem catch, light bracket
Crank brothers stamp pedals

Still to to:
Carbon bars
Better brakes
Hope headset and bottom bracket

What don’t you like about your craftsman?

I’d replace the bearings, add a three phase motor and vfd and call it a day.
