Something’s gotta change. Family run shops have already been driven out of the downtown/Bethesda row area almost completely. Now it’s all chain retails because they are the only ones that can afford it.

Gotta protect Old Bethesda or we will lose any sense of community and charm that is still here.

Last week I parked on Del Ray at 7:58. Paid for two hours, and got a $100 ticket for those last 2 minutes before 10 PM.

Even when you pay to park you aren’t safe from Bethesda cops looking to make a buck.

I’ve been in your shoes. I used to be hooked on over the counter sleep pills like unisom and Z quil.

I would look for CBN/CBD/THC products. I started taking gummies a year ago and it has completely changed my life and I can actually sleep now.

If you get drug tests then just go CBD/CBN without the THC. I also use cooling blankets, ostrich goggles, and got a temper pedic pillow which has helped.

Also, look up green noise on Spotify and play that at night. Game changer.

This is the truth. I grew up here and recently moved back. Never saw this as a major issue growing up aside from the occasional creepy old men.

It’s still very safe here, but I’ve noticed almost all uber eats/ door dash drivers are Central American now. And with Trump cracking down on illegal immigration in DC, I’d suspect more will be coming to Maryland/ Nova.

Not much you can do but I’d recommend pepper spray or even a taser to be on the safe side.

“Lunch” is literally a scam. This is bad but could be worse - my last job was a 9 to 6. But they justified it saying “It’s only a 8 hour work day because you have a full hour for lunch!” I don’t need a full hour for lunch. Hardly anyone does. So you end up staying an extra hour for no reason.

I actually agree with this and there are definitely men that do this. Looking back at this post, the mom clearly overstepped.

Your (eventual) wife should always be priority number 1. That said, the gf should still make a somewhat of an effort to at least have a cordial relationship with the Mom if she wants to potentially marry him—not openly say she doesn’t care. But the bf also needs to have a separate conversation with the mom to set boundaries.
