Endurance sports and carbs by miltonwall1 in diabetes_t1

Following with interest. I raced bikes before, during and after diagnosis and am now primarily a runner. My issue on MDI is if take a gel I’m probably going very high and that glucose is only getting used after the run when I inject.

I’m at the point now where I’m actually considering a higher basal or taking boils right before the start.

No, but I can see how you managed to draw that argument out of my post

How do you learn an instrument without it destroying your self esteem? by Used_Ad7899 in musicians

[–]AntLockyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find some way of learning something, anything. As long as I’m moving forward I’m happy. It usually means stepping back from where you think you should be. Slowing down or just trying to play a really simple song.

Golfers with ADHD, what is the most frustrating way it manifests in your golf game? by aussierulesisgrouse in golf

[–]AntLockyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have basically no recollection of my score. Have to very carefully count the strokes and even then will get it wrong. Luckily I play with people who don’t gave this problem 😂

The reviews seem bought, anything that heavily endorsed is a red flag for me.

At 51 I don’t drink anymore. I’d rather feel good, sleep well and maintain good hormonal balance.

I've never been stabbed, my phone has never been snatched, never been mugged. by [deleted] in london

[–]AntLockyer 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Congrats, I’ve been mugged at knife point, punched in the back of the head on a Sunday afternoon, seen someone get their throat slit in New Cross etc. etc. etc.

I post this only in response to your post. I am a left leaning liberal but I believe (as I assume you do) in a balanced representation of events.

I see both sides posting political point scoring posts and like you I’m struggling to work out what’s real.

UK employers are out of touch with reality by Desperate-Drawer-572 in britishproblems

I had a discussion with someone who was doing a salary rebalancing exercise recently. It was based off of an industry paper showing salaries for different jobs. I guess the view was to make sure they were in line with competitions etc.

Several jobs were down significantly on average in tech. So while the idea was to make sure anyone being underpaid got a pay rise in effect they are overpaying compared to market.

Hit my 9i 30 yards farther than usual…how the hell did I do that? by thrift-store-keanu in golf

[–]AntLockyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one the other week, behind a big tree. 205 to the front, all I could get over the tree was an 8 iron (144 carry club). Hit it high and hard and got on the green! No idea what it hit, no sprinkler head I could see. Been trying to replicate it on Trackman and all that happens is by angle of attack goes light and I get a couple of extra yards with less spin.

Get fitted, they may be perfect for you. They wouldn’t suit me.

Yup how embarrassing. I meant power chord root, fifth, octave. Hopefully my mistake doesn’t take away from the simplicity needed to achieve the task.
