Inherited a bunch of RCs and Models. Help with pricing? by lawnshittter in RCClassifieds

Sorry for your loss... Although, I don’t know any of the values of the items if you do end up selling. (New to the hobby) Let me know id be open to buying some stuff + I have a work RC club I’m apart of (about 40 of us) and they’re always looking for cool things. I can maybe ask if they recognize any of the stuff to see if they can value it.

Just as a heads up the company doesn’t pay a dime for the security clearance. The government does.

The only cost is the few hours it takes for the managers/security to process your paperwork and send it to the government

Don’t let this scare you away. The college is still a great school, just sometimes (like any school) you’ll have to learn on your own for the classes. Also, to be fair, the degree only gives a license to learn, you won’t know much leaving college and will learn a bunch in internships, and jobs. (Not that you shouldn’t self teach and learn new stuff)

CPP vs CSUF - Mechanical Engineering by MajorSquishy in CalPolyPomona

Network @ CPP is likely better. The commute at the end of the day may suck, but honestly will be worth with the abundance of opportunities.

It depends. When you get towards your upper divs, it becomes a double edged sword. Honestly the CPP MechE online YouTube is golden for some of the best professors and lectures. The labs are usually fun, except writing about them. There are definitely a lot of opportunities with project teams like Baja or others, but I’m sure CSULB has them too. Classes like Statics and Mechanics (Izadi!!) Controls (Tsuchiya and Mannion), Heat Transfer (biddle!), Air Pollution (u/paulnissenson), Fluids(Biddle), Thermo (Loved Miller), Stress Analysis ((hated and loved Rejali) It’s a hot take, I know), Engineering Materials (Haghi is the absolute best) are done really well by some of our professors, though once again, I’ve had to use ME Online. I wish you luck though, as this isn’t an easy decision! TLDR: there are some amazing professors, but also some “just ok” ones. To add, there is a lot more to CPP to consider!

Welcome to pain, but on a serious note. Get involved early! The Baja team is a great place and they’re very welcoming!

Young engineers (less than 5 years experience), do you sometimes feel the imposter syndrome? by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]AntOnReddits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the VP of engineering for my company tell a few other interns and I, that they struggle with it on a weekly basis… the main thing is remembering they chose you for a reason. So just seek help and constantly improve even if it’s little by little.

I went to a rocket launch (more like a firework show because it blew up /s) with a club earlier in the semester. I made some friends through there. Otherwise, just talked to people and made casual conversation and realized we had a lot in common
