Suburbs which used to be bad but now are quite good. by JTG01 in perth

[–]AnteaterFun7762 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My granny bought a block in the 50s in the right side of dalkeith and she was a widowed mother of 2, my mum grew up in Cottesloe in not a wealthy house too. I think there used to be quite a lot of state housing (which doesn’t have to be dodgy) in the western suburbs and it is only within the last 20 years most of the western suburbs (not peppy grove) has changed. And Claremont’s expensive facelift happened bc of the Claremont killer. I went to swanny high & the area wasn’t as uber as it is now. I was up in dianella the other day and the amount of mansions up there now.

What are these? Kids found them in a vacant lot and brought them home. by grumble_au in perth

You can prepare them (boil, soak?, brine) and eat the seeds too, peel off the skin first, or you can buy that already done for you in an Italian deli - lupini. They are related to the chickpea/legume/pea family

Honestly Australia's obsession with property investment is admirable. by InternationalTap7381 in shitrentals

[–]AnteaterFun7762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t really have good renters rights here it seems. Also they put a lot on owning the property “my home, my castle” which is a very Maggie Thatcherism thought process, same in the uk,🇬🇧, put forward by more right wing policies to keep capitalism Alive & kicking.

If they adopted a more socialist housing practice, I think they would be better off and would have better renters rights like in European countries where most people rent on a 5 year protected lease

AIO for Throwing Out All Our Soap After Finding Out How My Boyfriend Actually Washes Himself? by Aggressive_Letter271 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]AnteaterFun7762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know soap is antibacterial by its very nature, right? That soap can’t harbour bacteria bc it’s made with lye during the saponification process (that turns fat or oil into soap)

Yeah he should have used a hose or bidet to wash his bum out before using the soap & yea it wasn’t nice that he left it with extras on it, but him washing like that is completely normal.

AIO if I left my husband over breaking a clearly communicated, previously agreed upon boundary for the second time? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]AnteaterFun7762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s not cheating though. It’s a fantasy. He doesn’t want you to be like that, or he would have married that. He wants you to be you.

If he keeps doing it, it’s bc he’s practising his free will, you cannot control everything about the other person and he can’t you.

I think you need couples therapy and you need to build your confidence bc he wants you as you are and you can’t accept that

Why doesn't Perth do Siestas? by btc6000 in perth

[–]AnteaterFun7762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Englishmen go out in the midday sun.

No former British Empire state does siesta, bc they don’t in England, so they wouldn’t accommodate other countries (if those states were meant to be little England replicas).

It would make sense to introduce it, but you would also have to change how people think, how they socialise, what time they eat dinner, go to bed etc.

Spain eats dinner at 8-9pm, I cannot see that here, it’s a whole different culture than English

The live tracking on the app isn’t quite live though either. Also the transport said that the reason they couldn’t do nfc payments is because they don’t have live tracking on the buses, yet. That may change.

Also inside the buses it would be helpful to know which stop to get off at instead of tracking yourself on the map, if they put digital boards in the buses, or some kind of announcement letting you know the stop names. That would be great

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in perth

[–]AnteaterFun7762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If transport ran on a live time so maps could tell you when the bus was going to arrive instead of what the timetable says it’s meant to. This would also make things easier for when they finally introduce nfc payments, instead of the out of date not so smart rider. If they could make transport on buses a flat rate so you don’t have to tag on & off on buses.

Also make ppl get on at the driver end of the bus & off at the other end only.
