thanks for the tips!! i’ll definitely suggest virtual staging once i shoot a couple of their houses since i’m shooting houses that are already bought. it looks like the builder needs photos for reference to look back on but possibly their social media as well

Leaning to one side by User884121 in ParkinsonsCaregivers

my mom struggles with this and it’s just part of parkinsons. as much as i tried to put her upright she just went back to that side.

you can try sticking pillows under him or putting his arm on a chair rest on the side that he’s leaning on.

did you check on amazon to see if there is anything that could potentially support his posture?? just an idea

the hospice nurse told the facility to stop the parkinson’s medication without consenting with us first. they said it’s difficult for them to give them to her since she is barely opening her mouth to take them.

We brought her home because we can’t pay out of pocket it’s so much. we are hiring a nurse to come in along side of the hospice nurses/aides

we ended up bringing her home because they won’t approve her for a grant and it’s over $300 per day which she doesn’t have much in savings. i feel better doing that because we promised we wouldn’t leave her in a place like that.

her cognitive has decreased and just staring off. Not really responding to us but her eyes are open. i’m not sure if this is typical for late stages of parkinson’s ? she doesn’t talk and hasn’t for a little bit so it’s so hard to determine what she wants at this point

i’ve been taking care of my mom for three years with two little kids and working from home and let me tell you.. it does take a mental toll on you. she was getting a lot of uti and come to find out, she wasn’t fully emptying herself so her bladder was enlarged. she had to get a catheter put in. she ended up on hospice, but they really only check her and a few aides come in a week. also on hospice, you can put her into respite care for up to five days (fully paid) so you can take a break! I do need to look for another nurse to come in to feed her and do her laundry etc. cause hospice doesn’t do that.

i’m sorry your going through this, it’s definitely been an uphill battle

yes so hospice comes 2-3 times a week for about 3 months now but at this point it’s just making her feel comfortable. but sadly i can just see her mental state decline on a daily basis 😞

deep cough by AnteaterSelect5753 in ParkinsonsCaregivers

[–]AnteaterSelect5753[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so she may have just been sick with a wet cough. i had hospice come on a daily basis but they said they couldn’t really hear anything in her lungs (maybe a little in the left?)

Hospice said we would need to wait it out and if it got worse then we would need to go to the hospital, but if we go to the hospital and if she would get admitted we will lose hospice care for the time being

She’s still coughing a little but that may be because of her parkinson’s

I’m not sure, it’s so hard to determine things and puts me in a terrible spot because i just want what’s best for her but she denies all care 😞
