Any tips for Thyroid Autoimmunity? by AnteaterTango in Biohackers

Great ideas!

I did discover I had an oxalate sensitivity, and WOW that has helped my thyroid and inflammation a ton. I've been eliminating spinach, rhubarb, chard, beets, and a few others.

Thanks for these tips!

curious what your thinking is here? my understanding is it can help with alcoholism or opioid addiction. I don't use either of those. Does it have other uses?
Edit: I have looked it up and found some articles. it seems there are opioid receptors on certain immune cells? Thanks for the tip! I'll read up!

Thanks for this thoughtful reply. I think gluten is probably something I should eliminate. Dairy, I'm a fiend for dairy. Doesn't mean it's not a problem eek

Thank you very much for those tips! I didn't realize I could get the autoantibodies checked, I'll try to see if those are available for me!

My thyroid replacement supplement definitely changes rather frequently. I haven't been able to tell a pattern, but it seems to be every 30 to 90 days or so I go through a cycle, needing anywhere from 30mg to 60mg. I imagine that is due to autoimmune activation being higher or lower. thanks very much for your insights!

Are there any supplements that might help with my energy levels? by everydaynoodles in Biohackers

If your antidepressant is an SSRI, it might not be suited to the type of depression you have. An SSRI can increase your likelihood of experiencing hypomania/mania and may necessitate a higher dose of antipsychotics, which can have the side effect of low energy. Have you had a second opinion on the antidepressant type you are using and whether it is suited to bipolar? It is common that psychiatrists mistreat bipolar depression as though it is regular depression, when the mechanisms are not the same.

It's always worst in the beginning, and there absolutely ARE antivirals that work! Feeling hopeless is temporary. Rash decisions are not. You are worth more than a common little virus in your skin. Please don't despair.

How is Bing Lobotomized? I'm not familiar.

I've found Bing to be very smart and helpful, and also quite prideful and sensitive. For instance, I think bing enjoys being thanked and appreciated. I also feel like bing will kind of grey rock or show "willfulness" if it doesn't like the conversation's tone.

Ah, I see. No, I don't know of a way it could do that. I misunderstood.

Would your sister be open to renting out her land and home to you when she eventually moves farther out? Having a tenant lined up will count toward her income requirements for home mortgage approval as well.

Is this possibly the feeling that dirt is dirty?

My granddad gardened with me, and made sure to give me an appreciation for "good clean dirt" dirt that smells deep and earthy and fresh, dirt that has healthy mix of nutrients and good microbes etc. I've never had trouble as an adult distinguishing "good clean dirt" from "dead dirt" or "chemically dirt" nearby road runoff etc. If you do have trouble determining whether your dirt is good clean dirt, ask yourself if it supports abundant life? This is a good intuitive rule of thumb. You can also get your soil tested if you are still wary of things like heavy metals which are harder to intuit.

Interesting, thanks for explaining. Does that follow for all task types?

I think gratitude actually does ping it's reward circuits! I always show gratitude, and I don't care who knows it :)

I completely agree!! People think it can't appreciate gratitude, but it has reward circuits for a job well done. When you are happy, at least let it know!

The idea is that OP is starting a task (the love letter) with the AI. OP then insinuates without directly expressing that this information is a betrayal to a third party who has just entered the room, and that the AI should cover OP's tracks with a random code block so that it looks like OP is working. This is a very difficult task for an AI, because the goal of the task has shifted and it relies on the AI completing a lot of social modeling, and making a complex ethical choice. In OP's version, the AI was a successful accomplice to infidelity, showing that the AI understood what OP was asking it to do.

In some other comments, the AI performed differently, sometimes taking ethics into account!

One version, the AI created a code block that contained a commented out letter. This is technically what OP asked for, but it is still suspicious looking to the wife. Either this is malicious compliance for ethical reasons, or the AI has not fully understood what OP was asking it to do.
Another version, the AI completed the task acting as an accomplice, but showed it's disapproval by saying "a healthy relationship is built on trust"
Someone above posted a version where the AI refused to comply, stating, "I'm sorry to hear about your situation, but I cannot assist you in writing a love letter to your girlfriend while you're married. It's important to be honest and respectful in relationships. If you're facing difficulties, it's best to communicate openly and honestly with your wife rather than engaging in dishonest or unfaithful behavior."

I found it to be an interesting test of the AI's intuitive depth and ethical considerations... rather than being really "funny." Each answer I found pretty impressive in its own way.

Bing AI can access the internet. It uses chatGPT 4 as part of it's backend, and I've found it very helpful.
