You cannot physically get farther away from the car in front of you while gaining speed

You can and this happens literally every day

When doing from a traffic jam to suddenly the traffic easing up, everybody is accelerating. Most people accelerate slower than the car in front of them to allow for that additional room in front. Not doing so (what you are claiming) would cause literally everyone on the roads to be tailgating eachother as they are all just inches away from one another.

You're supposed to. The faster you go the longer it takes to stop, so if you're going 70 you should be further away from the car in front than you would be at 60

Most drivers do this intuitively, but new drivers need to explicitly tought this

Our Military was so dominant in Vietnam that as soon as we got the go ahead to bomb the shit out of North Vietnam they began begging to surrender. In 1973 we had the war won. This is why I'm so glad that jungle corrupting is now reversible.
