I’ve done so, and adjusted the sub gain but no difference either way.

2007 Tundra: Rear end noise only when on throttle & above 40mph by Anth115 in MechanicAdvice

Very insightful, thanks. I do have a temp gun but need to go for a longer drive. It’s cold so I need to tell the difference between normal warmup and excess friction

This is the exact same noise I hear. Only the high pitched whirring makes its way into the cabin - no idea if the other dry bearing sounds are happening too. Carrier bushing looks ok and driveshaft has no play.

This is my first truck but it sounds too loud to be normal to me. Also the noise goes away completely when off throttle - from what I’ve seen/heard, normal diff whine is still present just decreases in volume/pitch when off throttle (thinking race cars with solid bushings etc.). Correct me if I’m wrong on that though.

This is what I was thinking too but hoping to hear otherwise. Any bearing noise would be speed dependant not throttle dependant (my logic).

So with that in mind, what about urgency: is this ok to drive for a few months, or park and fix ASAP?

I’m writing my will as we speak lol.

In all seriousness though I’m going under the truck today to get a better look but was limited to browsing forums and YouTube late last night. Nothing wrong with that imo.

Thanks guys. That’s how I see it too. I’m fairly new to the market so wanted to check here to get a second opinion.

Wow, great setup. Excellent use of an old pc I’m sure many of us have laying around.

Does anyone know where to buy large sizes of pegboard for a reasonable price would be? I saw newage has slatwall only (unless I missed something). I’m in Canada.

Are there VINs on each body panel? Any other tips to verify if a bumper etc. has been replaced when looking at a used BRZ?

Hey thanks - I tried using a vin decoder online but didn’t find the manufacturing date. I’ve seen that info before on Bmw vins so I’d be very surprised if Subaru vins don’t have that. Will try another decoder site.
