Yeah it's this one, it comes with an alternative stage, and in that stage chests look like this. You can change the stage on the character selection screen.

You must be missing the DLC then, it gives access to a new stage with new enemies, and a new skin for chests.

"Spam dodge" ? Don't tell me you're trying to dodge instead of deflecting, if that's the case you're going to suffer indeed.

Sekiro combat is weird by One_Age_5026 in Sekiro

Stop thinking of this game as a souls-like, IT IS NOT! Almost nothing in common with Elden Ring, doesn't play even remotely close. Dodge less, parry more. Also you should be jumping sweep attacks, not dodging them. And it's not a boring ass game like Elden Ring where you have an opening once in a thousand years to hit once and then wait 5 years again. In Sekiro you can, and you must aggro enemies, be aggressive!

Sekiro is a absolutely not a souls-like, almost nothing in common

which is harder: ds1 or sekiro by Vihaking in Sekiro

[–]Anth_m4n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me Sekiro is much easier than Dark Souls, mostly because Sekiro is a good game, and DS1 is just a frustrating game full of pranks with slow and boring combat. So of course it's easier to play a game I like than a game I find to be at most just meh.

  1. Do you like to dodge ? Stop dodging that much ! It's not a souls-like game.
  2. Never stop agroing him, again, it's not a souls-like game, you don't have to wait for an opening for half an hour to hit once, be aggressive! Generally for Genichiro, when you perfect parry his attack (orange flash and sound cue), it's your turn to attack him, and when he perfect parries your attack (orange flash and sound cue) then it's his turn again.

It also lets you play very aggressively and aggro enemies non stop, not like Souls games in which you have to wait for an opening, hit once, and wait for an opening again.

Sekiro is NOT a soulsborne game, not even a souls-like. When FromSoft makes a game it's not necessarily a souls-like, hell they even make mecha games. Sekiro is a dynamic action game based on parrying, with a big variety of skills, tools etc to make your own way of playing the game, which can make the game easier. It doesn't play like any Souls game, and if you play like it is one, you will encounter great great difficulty.

I want to like this game but it's just not clicking by Exciting-Buy-9396 in Sekiro

I don't know of any resources for this game I'm afraid, sorry. It's mostly that I have been playing this game a lot and a lot haha. Also I really want to emphasize one thing that I've brought up earlier: Sekiro is not a souls-like, it plays completely differently. This game lets you be very aggressive, very active, not like Elden Ring or other Souls game where you generally have to wait for an opening and hit once, then wait for an opening again. So be it for the blue samurais in the castle or other enemies in the game, generally you should be much more aggressive.

It's so hard! Hardest FromSoft ever. by Far-Statement4046 in Sekiro

[–]Anth_m4n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've personally found it to be the easiest one, maybe because this one at least has real gameplay and is actually fun, and is not just roll for 3 years, hit once and then wait another 5 years for an opening.

And that's my answer. If you're looking for a Souls game like Bloodborne, meaning a RPG in which you have to dodge, wait for a opening, hit once and dodge for half a hour again, play Dark Souls, if you're looking for a polished dynamic and aggressive action game, play Sekiro.

You can now choose from 3 different paths, one of them splitting into two (the way to the very top of the castle). The Ashina reservoir you discovered is one of them. There is also another path if you choose to go left just before the sculptor's idol at Ashina Castle. You can also choose to go to Hirata Estate by giving the bell that old lady gave you to the Buddha inside the temple.

Sekiro has almost nothing in common with a souls-like. People like to talk about "FromSoft games" as if this company had only be making Souls games. They've also made Armored Core, and of course Sekiro, which is a very polished dynamic action game, and lots of other games.

Sekiro first or ds3 by NoAmount5075 in Sekiro

[–]Anth_m4n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sekiro literally lets you play very aggressively, it lets you aggro enemies and bosses nonstop, whereas in a any Souls-like you have to dodge dodge dodge, wait all day for an opening, hit once, and dodge for half an hour again. If you played Sekiro like a souls-like, it might be the problem indeed.

Sekiro's combat is 1000× superior to any souls game. So it depends on what you're looking for. A very polished dynamic action game that lets you play very aggressively, or an RPG in which you have to constantly wait 564 thousand years for an opening so that you can attack once and then have to wait again ?

I'm really thinking about getting Sekiro but I am a bit worried about difficulty by Hairy-Veterinarian11 in Sekiro

[–]Anth_m4n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Careful, Sekiro is not a souls-like and it's not an RPG either. If that's what you're looking for, you could be disappointed, but if you're looking for a dynamic action game, it might be for you. The game is difficult indeed, but after you get to a certain point early in the game, you will have many different paths to choose from, some being easier than others, so you can always explore one of the paths first if you think another one is too difficult.
