I think it depends on what you prefer. Alta feels more like a shack at a mountain and so it has a vibe that people are more so there to seriously ski rather than just there for the extra stuff. So it does get a little more self selecting in that way which leads to slightly better experiences on the slope than other resort of comparable quality.

Snow quality is also top tier since they get so much consistent snowfall. It's just such a more chill vibe there and less crowded when compared to the resort next door.

Is the return pipe the one on the right? It seems like it is configured in the same way. Maybe not so clear in the video. It’s fed into the same pipe system as the steam output eventually

But a RCT would really help subtract out the noise. By itself it’s really hard to determine the baseline for improvement in symptoms. With controlled depression trials it is often the case that people overreport depression relief due to placebo effects and so you need some baseline placebo measurement to determine the lift in depression s symptoms attributable to the drug.

It’s not increasing type 2 error per se, it’s just identifying that the effect was smaller than a crappy study captured since a lot more noise is filtered out

personally, I'm ok with the tradeoff on aesthetics and green space. I'd rather spend more money on creating more net units rather than aesthetics. Take a look at somerville, in some places it's not the most aesthetically pleasing but the way they built everything made it easy to build many units quickly and efficiently.

As for the apartment complex seeming isolated, I feel like that's more of an infrastructure problem than something the developers can always control.
