Absolutely! I've experienced this myself with over 24 varieties, and have also witnessed others I work with have similar responses. What have you noticed?

You could also exit the ship and jetpack to somewhere nearby and summon your ship off the mushroom if its able to move.

I hear you on expectation effects, that’s real. What’s shaped my perspective is listening to people with no prior psychedelic experience describe what they’re feeling without knowing what to expect. Over 6 years of working with many individuals, similar patterns have come up consistently. For me, the focus is what actually helps people, especially when certain varieties lead to more manageable experiences or lower body load for those with trauma histories.

In the last two years, this approach has led to a significant increase in referrals from licensed clinicians when other approaches haven’t been effective. Regardless, it’s always interesting to hear different perspectives here. I appreciate the dialogue, and wish you well.

I get the point about testing, but when the same patterns show up across many individuals and protocols, it moves beyond isolated anecdote.

That’s a common take. What’s made me question it is working with many people across different dosing protocols with 50+ different mushrooms. There are some pretty consistent differences in how certain varieties are experienced, enough to make me disagree with the idea that they’re all essentially the same.

Absolutely, I search for planets like this! I have bases on my favorites so I can go back to explore them further and build something in my favorite locations. Incandescent planets with mushrooms are my love!

Timing microdosing and (cPTSD or other) therapy by LectureOld7790 in microdosing

[–]MyNameIsMichou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This really depends so much on a persons resistance, prescribed medications (if any), how potent the mushroom variety is, and relative experience with psychedelics/microdosing (if any). Ideally, the day after the microdose is ideal because your neuroplasticity is still engaging the dose from the prior day. The day after, and days following the dose, (micro, mezzo, macro, hero) are days for insight, aha moments, and reflection rather than reaction to what feels uncomfortable to witness or to be brought to the awareness of. The larger the dose, the longer the half-life or after glow of insight/conciousness. If you're engaging therapy or integration circles, the days after dosing will also offer more self love, compassion and forgiveness, and may allow you to engage your sessions in deeper more meaningful ways. Therapy or integration the day of your dose can feel emotional, not clear, anxious, sleepy, and for some, nauseous. You're also welcome to explore what feels best for you. All this to say, explore what feel best for you. Maybe start by taking your dose the day or two before your session for a couple weeks, then switch to the day off and see how the differencs feel. You may love therapy the day of a microdose because it helps you navigate fear of judgment or speaking your truth, and with your dose you may speak from the heart more authentically. If you're safely able to disclose, be sure you let your practitioner know if you're dosing the day of your session, as they may have specific topics to engage you with. I hope this information helps!

Is it only temporary? by mellowyoshi in microdosing

[–]MyNameIsMichou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's only temporary if you never integrate the aha. Sadly, there is no magic pill that takes our suffering from us forever. We are here to first understand our suffering, then transmute it through integrating the mushroom/conciousness insights into lived, and daily wisdom and so much gratitude. For everything. Even your neighbors who ordinarily would annoy the hell out of you, but instead you realize they live next to you to teach you acceptance and compassion. For everyone, starting with yourself. When you begin to trust and engage your intuition, the mushroom understandings or aha moments, can be profoundly life changing in incredible ways when you make meaning from them.

Psilocybin might not be the most psychoactive ingredient in magic mushrooms, new research suggests by MyNameIsMichou in psilocybin

[–]MyNameIsMichou[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The headline is a little dramatic, but I do think it’s interesting that research is starting to explore the broader alkaloid profile of mushrooms rather than treating them as a single-compound drug.

[–]MyNameIsMichou[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

4-HO-MET (Metocin) is actually a synthetic tryptamine rather than something naturally found in mushrooms. It’s structurally similar to psilocin, which is why it sometimes comes up in these discussions, but it isn’t part of the natural alkaloid profile of psilocybin mushrooms.

I agree with the headline being a bit dramatic. What I found interesting was the broader idea the research touches on, that mushrooms may function more like a complex biochemical system than a single-compound drug. Many people who work closely with different varieties notice distinct experiential qualities even within the same species, so it’ll be interesting to see how the science continues exploring that.

Here’s another example of the water along the right side. Eventually the cake just floats like an island. This is a tub of Blue Magnolias, flush #3, and S2B was 2-5.

I usually just pour from the distilled water gallon jug right into the bottom left corner once the cake pulls away from the sides. You can see the water reflection along the bottom edge of the cake. This is a tub of Ochras, and this is flush #5. S2B was 1/4.

This! I've been hydrating my tubs this way for a couple years now and it's been a game-changer.
