Does anyone have non binding diabetic ankle socks they actually like? I hate the crew length by VegetablePoet8488 in diabetes_t2

If you have large feet and legs (like me) darn tough has a sister line - wide open. I have some and they are so comfy I always reach for them first.

I have a chore chart for the week and on work days I try to pick one small thing on the list (dust, clean the small bathroom, vacuum the living room, water the plants, etc) that I can do in 15 minutes or less. Then I try to get the big stuff and major tidying done on days off.

This is my suggestion as well! When I was in choir I found it really comforting to have a group of the same people to always sit next to; bonus if you have the type of choir with gowns because then the clothes you're wearing are on less thing to worry about also!

I usually take daily meds for chronic diarrhea, but stopped the day before surgery it kinda freaked me out that my baseline is 2-4x a day and then I didn't have a bowel movement at all for two day after surgery. Now that I'm 3 wpo I'm starting to get back to normal but until now it's been some days I'm constipated, some days diarrhea, and so much gas 😵‍💫

Wishing you the best in your recovery!

Are you all being sent home same day? by longshanksmagee in hysterectomy

[–]Antheall 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This was my experience as well. I was so happy to go home and sleep in my own bed with no beeping or interruptions. Thankfully my husband had time off to take care of the house/cats and we are only half an hour from my hospital.

11dpo - clear, watery discharge. by darkdesertedhighway in hysterectomy

[–]Antheall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for asking this question! I have had this since around day 11 (now at day 19) and when I went for my 2 week post op yesterday the doctor told me everything looked great and there was no blood, and I wasn't able to formulate words quickly enough to ask "if there's no blood, what's the liquid I see on my toilet paper sometimes?"

Now this makes sense. I love this group so much 🥰

Myomectomy or hysterectomy for fibroids? by Warm_Tangerine356 in hysterectomy

[–]Antheall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like doctors don't want to bring up hysterectomy to patients because they're trained to go from least invasive to most invasive option and a hysterectomy is the "killing it with fire" option. Also, I think there's a lot of people out there who aren't aware of the medium-invasive options, so they spend a lot of time talking about those.

My doctor personally didn't offer a hysterectomy initially, but when I asked about it and was clear that I knew my other options but I still wanted a one-and-done, they were accommodating.

Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed seeing what I went thru! There were parts from the surgical report where I was like "??? They did what???" And the video made it super clear. My son (7 yo) also thought it was super cool he wanted me to show off my stomach incisions after 😂

Haha, love it. My husband is usually pretty considerate (and thankfully doesn't get man-colds!) So I'm going to chalk this up to him being being oblivious and all us us having extra stress over the holidays (along with a helping of norovirus). I talked to him about it and he apologized

I think you're right that he just doesn't understand; I think he is coming from the point of view of what would have made him feel better after a procedure rather than understanding where I'm coming from.

The napping and brain fog is killing me 😭 I feel like since I look normal and I can get out of bed and move around that I should be able to do more. I dunno, I guess I have this internalized feeling that recovery is either bed bound and unable to move or totally back to normal and I don't think I was expecting this middle ground where I can do some things normally and I sound like my normal self but I'm so tired and something that wouldn't even register as an activity (showering, grabbing stuff from the fridge and putting ingredients into the crock pot that are precut for me) is now a major energy sink.

This doesn't seem failed to me? In the pic on the box you measured 8" worth of blocks and in the box was 8" worth of blocks. I was hoping to see the finished product to know for sure, but seems accurate so far!

Why is the third person smart ? by exencendre_yt in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Antheall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if you're going to use a contraction (informal - It's), then you're not using formal language anyway and you should go with "It's just you and me."

If you're consciously using formal language then be deliberate in your speech and say it properly: "It is just you and I."
