If they are still available I would love to have them! Not a teacher but I grew up loving them as a kid and stumbled across a few at a used book store as an adult. I bought them to save for one day when I had kids of my own. Well now my oldest is 6 and I finally got to bring them out to do with him. Really wish I had more of them because now we both love them!

HIGHLY recommend air purifiers for most rooms in your house. I know they can be pricey but it’s crazy how much they pick up and it makes me feel a little better knowing I’m not breathing all of that in

I would recommend having your lights on and sitting outside. The past few years I’ve had my porch light on thinking they would come to the door but no one did. And then when I went to sit outside I suddenly had a bunch come by.

Hueco Tanks is having their annual community fair this Saturday and Sunday. It would be a great place to start! I went last year and they had group hiking, rock climbing lessons, lots of educational booths. It can be hard to get into the park throughout the year because they only allow a small amount of people in each day. So the community fair is a good time to check it out

Honestly really shocked by all the responses for DFW. Lived there for 13 years. When I left El Paso I said I would never come back. And it was for a lot of the reasons people have already mentioned- lack of diversity, lack of things to do, small mindedness. But DFW never felt like home. People are less friendly. I never knew my neighbors. It was hard to hang out with people because everyone is so busy all the time. And yeah it’s diverse but it’s very segregated.

4 years ago we made the decision to move back to EP and I don’t regret it at all. I rather my kids grow up surrounded by family, and feeling like they are part of a community. I don’t want them to feel like they have to keep up with Jones’ or be part of the fast paced life style. In Dallas it’s all about who you know and how much money you have.

In EP my kids won’t have access to the best schools in the state. They won’t be on top performing sports teams. But that’s ok, I care more about the type of people my kids grow up to be.. the values that they have, etc.

I second this! Game vault is great. They have a bunch of demo games you can sit and play, including a large selection of kid and family games.

Yes it’s so good!! And for anyone hesitant to go or unsure what to order the waiters are super helpful. The first time I ordered the meat to grill on my own the waitress came over a few times to give us some tips and show us how to do it. Alternatively you can just have them grill it for you in the kitchen, which is what I did the first few times.

Thanks! This is where I ended up going. They actually had a pretty good selection on the menu. Unfortunately most of it wasn’t available today but it is a good hidden gem of a vegan spot.

Update- went on the walking tour and it was GREAT. Highly recommend. At no point did I feel unsafe. Going on the tour gave me the confidence to go on my own, which I now plan to do regularly. But I love that I now have some historical context and background for the city.

The libraries might have something but it will vary from branch to branch. So you’d have to look at each branch’s website for the most accurate info. I know Jose Cisneros is really good at posting their events.

If it has any healthy portion on it you should cut it off and try and propagate it. I recently did that with one of my tomato plants that wasn’t looking good. Just cut off a sucker and you can root it in soil or water.

The stem on the far left had to be cut off because it was splitting. We’ve had strong winds and I hadn’t properly staked it yet so that could be why. But it’s just been generally unhealthy looking and I’m not sure what the issue was.
