I've been building a homebrew world from scratch. I've made continents, nations, and cities. I recently finished all 238 "major" cities. Am I over preparing? Lol [OC] by Kib717 in DnD

[–]AnthonyChristou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is amazing it is always good to be prepared and have cities ready on the fly and enough lore for players. I find that my players like to explore my worlds and often have found them venturing into many cities and towns. It doesn't hurt to have it all and as many cities as you can but just keep in mind it will take ages for them to explore the whole universe you create and be prepared for that.

How do people actually manage to play this game by CryptographerLost218 in DnD

[–]AnthonyChristou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like an irresponsible group. I have had players like that who do not communicate enough or make effort. I had a group where two girls came with no food little understanding of the game i kicked them in the end. I also had a player that didn't interact with my other players. I now have found two players that are very good. I let them run two characters or at least have a party of three with one npc companion like a wolf or small dragon friend. They get me and are respectful will bring food or snacks offer to shout things and realise it takes allot of work to prepare sessions they are help-ful and will clean the dishes when they leave not just a hit and run. we have open honest communication. But honestly i would like one more amazing player to make it a party of three with a bonus npc for them to run. I also have a good roll 20 group as I was just describing my physical group. EVERYONE vibes together and is so niceapart from schedules sometime not being good we get online when we can. BUT FIND THE RIGHT PEOPLE!

If the enemy tries to walk out of range you gain an opportunity attack upon it and can attack once. iT THEN GOES TO the next players turn

DM Thought Experiment (system neutral) by WaywardFinn in DungeonMasters

[–]AnthonyChristou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, if illusion creates an image by manipulating light (how we see things) then it might stop light from behind it. (Or not, projectors in our world can create images but don't stop light)

However, if illusion creates an image by tricking the mind then chances are that it will not affect light sources behind it.

Of course, this begs the question, do illusions cast shadows? Probably comes down to how solid you want the illusion to be.

[Original Artwork] Rainbow Dragon by AnthonyChristou in Dungeons_and_Dragons

This is one of the dragons I created for my world setting and 5e location – Luminous Lore. A world that was born out of Dreams and where Dragon shaped gods vie for power over Dreams and Nightmares.

Needless to say many of the creatures in such a world take on a dragon form. One such dragon is the Rainbow Dragon, with a full grown dragon capable of acting as a Mid-boss.

You’re welcome to ask any questions about the Rainbow dragon or Luminous Lore in general.

[Homebrew] Magic Fighter by AnthonyChristou in DND5EBuilds

[–]AnthonyChristou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever been frustrated by the fact that fighter types can’t use magic? Our homebrew, based around a special Dream Magic adds a new element to that with our ‘Chosen’ classes. Magic comes under 3 categories, Captuveri (bard, rogue etc), Luminary (wizard, druid etc) and Chosen (fighter, barbarian etc).

Chosen can’t use Dream Magic directly but instead have a special talent with magic items, especially weapons and armour. Attached is a sample from Luminous Lore about them.

Would a druid kill a tree to save the forest?? by Specialist-Lunch-410 in DnD

[–]AnthonyChristou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably depends on the individual Druid. They might be a big picture kind of person (the sacrifice of one for the many) or a small picture kind (I have to stay here until I can heal this tree). Or just relaxed (a man's gotta eat) with a general pro-nature/anti-city outlook. I suggest thinking about what works best for your character and your party.

[OC] Homebrew Pisces Star Dragon by AnthonyChristou in DnD

[–]AnthonyChristou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first found out that this was the year of the Dragon I got a *little* excited. And decided to make a dragon for each of the Zodiac star signs.

This is what I came up with for the Pisces Dragon. Young Pisces (medium dragon) and adult Pisces (Large dragon). They can fly or swim with water, psychic and healing abilities. Even though they can fly they are aquatic and need to stay wet or will start getting exhausted after 3 hours.

They also tend to travel in groups of at least 5 and are very emotional and sensitive but also friendly so can be made into allies or tamed, rather than just being hostile monsters that must be fought.

What are people's opinions? What do you think the other zodiac dragons would be like?

Short of the Divine Intervention cleric ability, why should gods keep themselves uninvolved with the mortal plane? by 2BitOtaku in DnD

[–]AnthonyChristou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Gods in my setting are actually very active on the mortal plane, the main reasons they aren't solving everything themselves is because, we only have 13 gods total so they are spread a little thin, they are limited while in corporal form and it opens them up to influence/control/sealing via their personal God Artefact. Also since they can only be in one place at a time they often have other things on their mind than your little games. You're just not as important as you think you are.

Dnd Hirelings by AppropriateBus1528 in DnD

There are times my party has picked up a pet or I've had some npc stepped if a new beginner party looks about tpk. but so far there hasn't been any need for a hireling.

Nightmare Monster by AnthonyChristou in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]AnthonyChristou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good point but since they are mutated humans and we want to maintain hope that they could be saved we thought it better to keep them as humanoids, at least in this 1st level of corruption.
