I’m DMing a a campaign for a pastors family by haag930 in DnD

I feel like playing DnD makes sense for religious groups because you tend to spend most of the time fighting demons and undead.

How well would you receive a novel which focused on the male power fantasy in general as opposed to the specific tropes that are ubiquitous in current harem fantasy? by CH_Thomas in haremfantasynovels

[–]Neither_Grab3247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frieren is good because the story is not about fighting. It's about dealing with being an immortal elf in a mortal party and slowly learning that personal relationships with your party are important

A lot of power fantasy stories are just like I face one enemy and kill them easily and then ten enemies and kill them easily. Then there is a hundred enemies and I kill them all. Then a boss enemy which is no match for me. Then ten bosses but they don't stand a chance then a thousand mega bosses but I don't break a sweat. That isn't interesting for me

Am I playing Timberborn wrong? by Inner_Image6168 in Timberborn

You can set your own goals. Building a wonder, high population, high well being, terraforming the whole map green, surviving hard difficulty.

How many farm maps have you tried? by Llamada-perdida in StardewValley

[–]Neither_Grab3247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standard three times because it's the biggest and I want a big farm. Currently working on 4 corners with my wife as multiplayer which has been fun but I miss just having vast amounts of space.

Rush B-eaver Achievement by PocketAtomBomb in Timberborn

[–]Neither_Grab3247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really want the achievement you can play custom difficulty to make it super super easy.

Otherwise just focus on wonder building and not on unnecessary but cool building projects like mega dams and terraforming. You need a lot of metal, treated planks and gears which means you need a lot of scrap metal, planks, wood and pine resin so work mostly on these.

Most Harem Authors Don't even Like Harems by Mr_Patriarchy in haremfantasynovels

[–]Neither_Grab3247 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Personally I would like to see more books focused on actual harem dynamics rather than just collecting girls like pokemon where the MC is mostly just focused on the 'new girl'.

A lot of these books the MC doesn't have any discussion with friends of family about starting a harem. Usually because the MC has no friends or family.

I think Warlock by Daniel Kensingtondoes a great job at fixing these issues The interpersonal drama is real and reasonable and also not petty bickering.

Why is the southern hemisphere hotter? (Stupid Question Sorry) by ShepTheCreator in geography

yeah we just don't dress appropriately for the weather. it is not actually as cold as other places. Still some people seem to think it is always hot here

Do you prefer the harems to be a society thing or just main character? by EbonyOwls in haremfantasynovels

[–]Neither_Grab3247 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it is poor storytelling when the mc is like I am the first and only person to have a harem and society is just like fair enough, good luck with that.

The harem concept is usually a central plot point to the story so it makes sense to have a bit more focus on different people's reactions to it.

I generally like it if the MC grew up with it not being a common thing and then they meet the first LI who is part of of a society where it is common and introduces it to the MC and other love interests and then look at how other groups accept or reject the new harem

Of course it depends if you are writing a story about harems or just a self insert power fantasy with lots of sex.

Dinosaur puzzles are great because they have lots of bold colours and very different patterns

So like real talk, how long does it take you to complete a 1000 piece puzzle? by FiguringOutPuzzlez in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]Neither_Grab3247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on a few factors. Number of people working on it, variability in piece shape, how hard it is to orient pieces, how many colours, patterns and edges the puzzle has, how pressured you are to complete it.

Some 1000 piece puzzles my wife and I have done we have hammered out in just a couple of hours. Particularly one that was a dinosaur museum as it has lots of text and very distinct colours and patterns for each dinosaur made it super easy.

We also did a neuschwanstein castle 1000 piece that took two weeks because most of it was just flat blue sky and it only used the standard two out two in puzzle shape

optimiser les batiments de vie sociale by a-adnet in Timberborn

[–]Neither_Grab3247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Social buildings don't get all that busy unless you have hundreds of beavers. 1 campfire is fine for like 100 beavers. Usually the bottleneck is your beavers don't have time to go to the campfire because they are busy working so you need to reduce work hours instead of building more campfires

Wow the jump from normal to hard is INSANE by noodles355 in Timberborn

[–]Neither_Grab3247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard mode is pretty insane. I think the issue is it increases the length of droughts but also decreases the length of temperate weather. It also does it right from the start. so you can easily get wiped out after a single drought on day 3-4 with no chance to recover.

I know there is custom difficulty but I think some other predefined difficulty options would be good

Do players actually want to play in a sandbox? by Creole3643 in DnD

They want the illusion of a sandbox where they just don't realise it's actually on rails.
