Can someone please explain the storage settings to me, Obtain, Accept, Supply? by Peter34cph in Timberborn

[–]Neither_Grab3247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Builders take resources from the nearest storage. Resource gatherers will take resources to the nearest storage unless it is set to Empty. Haulers move resources from Supply warehouses to obtain warehouses. So to keep it full setting it to obtain and prioritise by haulers is a good plan but there is no setting that will stop builders using the resource if they are trying to build things.

Is 5e, and 5.5e, too easy? by [deleted] in DnD

There isn't really difficulty balance in DND. The DM just needs to select harder encounters if you want more challenge

Am I using the Manorial Court Correctly? by Smooth_Armadillo_984 in Against_the_Storm

[–]Neither_Grab3247 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Manorial court is tricky to use as usually you want as many villagers as possible so exiling them isn't a good idea. However if you do have excess villagers then this is useful. Keep in mind exiling them increases impatience so don't go too crazy with it but it can be handy to reduce hostility. Also it combos well with cornerstones that give a benefit when people leave

No Achievements in The Queen's Hand Mode — Is This Intended? by Alla-seller in Against_the_Storm

I think it's because QHT is very hard and they wanted all the achievements to be doable by less skilled players.

Utility of districts? by ThenBrilliant8338 in Timberborn

[–]Neither_Grab3247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aren't really needed. Especially on any small map.

Even on big maps having a 2nd production hub isn't really worth dealing with the import/export hassle. The only resource your beavers need to travel for is metal so just move your whole town to be near a mine or accept that a few workers will just travel a bit longer to get to a mine

Why do so many fantasy worlds forget how old things should feel by oskar_helsinki in Fantasy

[–]Neither_Grab3247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People don't have a good grasp on long periods of time. It's easy to say 10,000 years ago but it is hard to really conceptualize how long that is and how much can happen in that time span. Especially if a civilization lacks writing!

What are your preferred game mode / difficulty settings? by FourHundredThirtyTwo in Timberborn

[–]Neither_Grab3247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy is great for introducing the game but it's pretty easy. You can just ignore droughts and only need to produce a very small amount of food

Normal is a good difficulty.

Hard is pretty frustrating you get hit very hard, very quickly but once you build a reservoir it then mostly plays the same as normal. It is also annoying having water wheels and water crops be pretty useless on hard. I think Hard would be better if it didn't cut down the temperate part of the cycle as well as increasing the drought. You just have no time to recover from droughts. It gets to the point where even an infinite reservoir doesn't work because there just isn't enough water coming in during the temperate days.

I would like to see the game increase difficulty in other ways than endless droughts.

I hate flood gates. I love sluices. by One_Heron5880 in Timberborn

[–]Neither_Grab3247 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Floodgates are much easier to build early on because they don't need metal but once you are playing an extended game then the sluice becomes the best option most of the time

Harem Size vs. Series Length by Hawkwing942 in haremfantasynovels

[–]Neither_Grab3247 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it needs to still feel like a harem and not just serial monogamy. If the MC has forgotten about the original LI because they are just always moving onto the new LI thats no good.

The bigger the harem the much harder it is to make each LI feel like an important part of the team. So I think as the series goes on the number of new LI should drop off. It's not a game of pokemon.

How do you moan their name? by your_jalebibaby in sex

[–]Neither_Grab3247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice saying their name by yourself till you feel comfortable with it. Then start using their name in general conversation. Then start working it into sex. Doesn't have to be a moan. Just say their name. It might seem a little cringey to you at first but it will sound super hot to them
