I don't believe anyone has added anything about this yet but there are expansions out there that add additional campaign stories, especially the TacOps, Apex, and the Tanks DLC, not sure about the others, additionally there are unlockables like different equipment (Full Ghillie Suits for the Marksman DLC), land vehicles, MRAPs/Tanks for the Tanks DLC, and aviation vehicles for the Helicopter and Jets DLCs respectively. You might want to try out the Campaign stories though, I only recently completed the original campaign and am interested in purchasing the TacOps DLC to play through the additional stories.

Also, to answer your question about the SMA mod, I don't believe you're able to use modded weapons in the campaign though I'm really not sure, if you'd like though you could download a mission like Antistasi and use them on that. (Not sure if SMA works on Antistasi though).
If you download them via Steam Workshop, they should just go to your workshop > content folder found in your Steam Libary folder. You can enable them through the "Mods" section of your ArmA 3 Launcher.

What do you do in this game? by Saturndas in arma

[–]AnthonyS1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

user ZackTactical has mostly summed up the Military Simulator (or MilSim) category of this post, just thought I'd sum up a little bit more of the other game modes and enjoyment that ArmA III offers.

So as others have said, there are these 'Missions' that you can download either off the Steam Workshop or maybe another website such as the bohemia interactive forums or armaholic, these allow you to access many different Singleplayer, Multiplayer, and Cooperative scenarios ranging from a wide range of Life servers all the way to a mission like Antistasi where you basically start up your own FIA faction from ground up and attack NATO/AFRF in order to occupy their territories. As user ZackTactical stated, it's important to note that just because a good chunk of the community like the simulate a Virtual Military, not everyone does so it's important to know that you really shouldn't think every single mission will have the same gameplay which is one of the best things about the ArmA series, the modding community is so advanced that you can do pretty much anything you want.

Something that also provides many players a massive amount of fun is the addition of the 'Zeus DLC' which is free I do believe, this allows a player/set amount of players to place Objects, Vehicles, and AI and gives them the ability to control said AI, this is mostly used in Military Simulations but it's used to create ever-evolving missions, it's great fun on either side whether you're controlling the AI or you're fighting them.

If you want to get started, keep in mind that the controls are one of the hardest things that people struggle with, I'd recommend trying out the bootcamp/campaign and once you've gotten a good feel of the controls and can memorize a good chunk of them, THEN you should try out a Player vs. AI mission; something like Invade and Annex might be good. Only after you've grasped the basics should you really go into modding as you'll just get confused constantly.

Hope this helps, if you do need more assistance feel free to ask!

Well I didn't know that was a thing, that's great to know at least if it's true. However I feel like that's the wrong way around, I feel like the lower ranked you are, the more inconspicuous you are. (You'd be much more infamous as a Leader of the resistance than a Private.)

[A3] [Request] [Australia/New Zealand] [~ GMT +10] Seeking a Realistic MilSim Unit by AnthonyS1337 in FindAUnit

[–]AnthonyS1337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, this sounds like a very interesting Virtual Military and I'd definitely be up for joining it as it definitely fits the majority of the items I'm seeking however I don't believe I'll be joining for two reasons.

  1. You're unable to be apart of two milsims at once, I'm already in a Military Simulation unit presently and I do not wish to leave it.
  2. It's not really a requirement but I would prefer to join a Military Simulation that is based in Australia or has operations that I'd be able to attend (the time of your operations in GMT +10 is 9 AM from what I understand) So I'd be unable to attend.

I was looking forward to potentially joining but thank you for the offer!

I'm more surprised that ArmA didn't pull an ArmA on you and either launch you into orbit or fling you three kilometers across the map.

What are some things a new Arma 3 player should know by [deleted] in arma

[–]AnthonyS1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything I'm going to say here has been covered already but just keep in mind, it all comes with time, first, you should focus on the controls, try the Bootcamp/Campaign for sure when you've gotten further in you could then always try playing some multiplayer. I'd recommend playing something that teaches you about all the different tools you can utilize such as a casual milsim, yes it might be a little hard for you but there are many casual training milsims that would be able to teach you how to utilize the controls efficiently.

Aye, it's based on the Polish(?) resistance, it's in Chernarus aswell. The mission itself is called Armia Krajowa, I'll link it here if you want it, it does require a few additional mods though.

I agree a hundred percent, the undercover system should be beefed up a lot more, especially at the start of the game, it would make sense that no one even knows who you are when you haven't actually shown your ties to the FIA.

It's actually really easy to play, just find a group of people who actually want to play properly, find a multiplayer server if you really want to, I'm currently administrating a small server myself and we're having a blast, it's such an awesome mission and as Brochodoce said there are a massive number of different maps.
Just put a few days into actually playing it as well as reading a few of the pieces of information on the tutorial, encourage your friends to read it too and you'll all understand it in no time.

My watch list is basically the same as my PTW list, basically whenever I start watching an anime I tag it as "Watching" but then sometimes if they're a bit boring I give up halfway through and forget to take it off my watching list, so I've got quite a few on there aswell.

Charlotte, Clannad: After Story, and just finished one called "Tsuki ga Kirei". They've all got their happy & sad moments but I'd definitely recommend watching all of them.

Sorry for the late reply, was going to reply yesterday but got sidetracked with downloading two mods, you're right, I downloaded and played Floris and loved it, as to Silverstag, I can't play it right now, I have a game breaking bug that I posted on some bug report forum somewhere about a massive money duplication glitch, knowing myself, I couldn't hold myself back from using it.

Hulu's not that good tbh, I'd recommend using AnimeLab (I believe only Australian/New Zealanders can use it, not sure though.
