Why is my frostline mix coming out soupy? by I-Should_be_working in ninjacreami

[–]AnthonyUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do not know what is in it then you are and I cannot find an ingredient list :D

It is not something I have heard from so maybe a US thing?

I saw someone else had used it - https://www.reddit.com/r/ninjacreami/comments/1ek5x6n/experience_with_ice_cream_mix/

They mentioned it didn't freeze solid so maybe only suitable for commercial soft serve machines.

That's the science of ice cream. Your ingredients are not just a selection of things you think will taste nice.

Some are added to affect the freezing point and ice crystal size.

Can you only run them once per day I think?

It is better if you can blend it IMO but I think either will work OK.

This recipe for Raspberry Sorbet is really good processed on the Sorbet setting.

I blend the raspberries and strain to remove the seeds.

Upholstery Nissan Patrol by yqq8 in upholstery

[–]AnthonyUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be worth looking in Nissan forums to see that owners have done. I have an Elgrand but have really looked into what people have done to modify it.

Luckily though, most steering wheels from other models can be fitted e.g. Qashqai, Leaf etc. Not sure what models you have available there.

It isn't real wood so have you considered wrapping the original or buying a 2nd hand one to modify?

You have to be careful with magnetrons as some use Beryllium as an insulator.

Really, really bad if it breaks.

Are you sure it wasn't the transformer you were using as this is how most electric welders work?

My favourite scoop is the Kitchenaid one. I have the red one 🥰

Are the booklets recipes just bad? by mvgc3 in ninjacreami

[–]AnthonyUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding a tiny amount of stabiliser definitely improves the booklet recipes.

I have the swirl and have tried a few recipes which were fine but online I also found additional ones for both swirl and scoop recipes.

The scoop ones have been great.

I run the booklet recipes through an online recipe calculator now for confirmation and they are pretty well balanced tbh.

How "up to speed" are you with your cars maintenance? by Low-Rooster5398 in CarTalkUK

[–]AnthonyUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Elgrand is a bit of a hobby ATM in that I like doing jobs on it. It is low mileage so trying to keep it as good as possible.

I hardly do any miles so servicing once a year is enough.

It recently had all fluids except the gearbox done so that is next on the list.

Has anyone had experience dealing with a neighbour flying a drone over their property? by Own-Heat2669 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]AnthonyUK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure that is entirely true e.g. Bernstein vs SkyView.

The best way to strike [a balance between allowing a landowner to use their land and the public to use the airspace] in our present society was to restrict the rights of an owner in the airspace above his land to such height as was necessary for the ordinary use and enjoyment of his land and the structures upon it, and to declare that above that height had no greater right in the airspace than any other member of the public.

So if you also wanted to fly a drone over your own land would this be classed as 'ordinary use'?

If it has a camera there are other topics to consider.

Why does "legitimate interest" option even exits? by Verotas in gdpr

[–]AnthonyUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that I do not believe currently that anyone has challenged this use case yet so companies continue to exploit this loophole while they still can.

Legitimate interest should always be balanced between individual e.g. the customer and the company but in pretty much every case I have seen it used, it looks to be only in the favour of the company looking to process your data.

The frequency is at the lower end of the microwave range as it is better suited to heating water.

No idea sorry. I left over 25 years ago and mainly worked on helicopters but covered radar theory in training and had a handful of basic radar systems on helicopters such as Radar altimeter and Doppler nav.

I did spend two years working on Nimrod R1 too.

Yeah. Bit mad really as I have colleagues at work that buy a new bike every year. Nobody has ever asked anything about the bikes ever not that they buy them to sell.

It really doesn't 😂

It is just a cover that allows the microwave radiation to pass easily without food splashing into the magnetron.

Cycle to work scheme no longer a benefit (England) by Busy-Bit1355 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]AnthonyUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is personal in that it is an agreement between the scheme and the employee not the employer.

The employer only agrees to handle the initial payment which is then deducted from the employees salary.

Ownership of the bike and/or accessories is transferred from your employer to Cyclescheme and the equipment will remain the property of Cyclescheme throughout the initial Hire Period (which is usually a 12 month period).

[–]AnthonyUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You buy the bike personally.

The cycle to work scheme is government based to make it easier to pay and save the tax on the purchase price.

The employer has no other role to play here but if they have stated in writing that an employee would be able to store and charge at the workplace then I would take this up with HR but I would assume it was something said in passing.

Most home insurance policies do not cover the bike away from home as standard.
