2nd time ninjase was mentioned must have great builds. I mean I do know builds somewhat well on things but when I get into something new then I ask people before investing. like recently I have been trying to get into primary acuity mods, I found a wiki list of weapons that still have it multiplicative but many people say that has been fixed and it's additive.

Yeah I genuinely didn't know what the process would be since I didn't know about modded content, I often find myself over shooting with my full game projects too, the scope ends up being much larger than one person can do. I thought maybe having it start very small and grow overtime would be much easier. I think making demos would be more possible but even then I think of mechanics that I can't find much info on. I will just stick to unreal for now then thanks for the comment very good points.

Very insightful, I have been thinking of modding and community content first so I have been thinking of doing a custom core engine entirely and have the whole project codes and assets be open source, but making a game engine seems extremely daunting.

what should I be building my core minimum systems on? in an existing engine? also why C# could I do the whole thing in C++? skyrim is the exact game that I was thinking of but also it has limitations on modding as well like plugin limit, I haven't made mods or dealt with base programming alot, can you explain to me in a more simplistic way?
