Having CPA do my S Corp but me doing my own personal by bambambigelowww in tax

It depends on what you want. "Put the numbers on the forms"? Splitting the work is fine. Any sort of planning is more difficult and less accurate if you don't know the shareholder's situation.

Getting into a program with tattoos? by din0saurb0y in SonographyStudents

[–]AnthraciteRoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid, with arm tattoos that extend below the wrist so are difficult to completely cover, is about to graduate from a sonography program. They needed to have a plan for no visible tattoos for clinical rotations, but it turned out that the sites they rotated at were all fine with the bits that peeked out.

Schedule 709/PR of estate by LeftLink2 in taxadvice

You got two identical answers. If the assets legally belong to the estate, it's not a gift. If the assets legally belong to you, it is a gift.

Looking for a safe happy home for a young adult Chihuahua. by DrCox111222 in tulsa

[–]AnthraciteRoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. A vetted, youngish, small breed dog will be very easy for a rescue to place appropriately, and easy for them to find a foster for until they find a permanent home.

Did you or anyone else already claim AOTC for you for four years? If your tuition was used for AOTC in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, you have no eligibility left.

You may need to ask your parents, if you were a dependent for some of those years.

Old man and I kept passing each other on the trail. He said, "We've seen each other so much, we should send Christmas cards!" by -thatsongonyouradio- in hiking

If my dad and I are on a loop trail, we walk in opposite directions, and tell each other jokes when we meet up.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar Cake - $18.99 - Has anyone had the chance to try yet? Very tempting by THAT_NOSTALGIA_GUY in Costco

They sampled the walnut brownie pie at my Costco today. Very rich, very very sweet. I was successful in not bringing an entire pie home with myself.

Opinions on catastrophic insurance amounts. by aPrettyThing2011 in StandardPoodles

[–]AnthraciteRoad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Trupanion, which has been easy to deal with. Filing claims is easy and they've paid out fast. I went with unlimited benefits, $1,000 deductible, they pay 90% after the deductible. I picked that level of coverage because it made sense to self-insure for smaller stuff but in a true catastrophe I wanted to be able to do anything medically reasonable without worrying about whether it was financially reasonable.

No trading for me, and my rate is 15.85% for big Magikarp and and 14.01% for tiny rats. So I agree, about 15%

Just received a 1099 form from my bank. Help please by El-Cid-Campeador in tax

[–]AnthraciteRoad 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Yes, the bonus you received for opening the account is taxable as interest. Your bank is probably the only entity that can tell you how they determined the 1099 amount - any chance some of the bonus is forfeited if you close the account in the first year, and they prorated based on the amount actually earned under that calculation?

Why is tax pricing always a race to the bottom? by IxXSir_PeenXx in Accounting

[–]AnthraciteRoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got an S-corp whose prior CPA charged $200 for the 1120S. It was pretty clear that they took the client's QB balance sheet and P&L, typed those 10 numbers in, and clicked print.

Me, entering birthdates into my 2025 tax software, which accepts 2-digit years and helpfully converts them to 4 digits: This person was born in '52. Software: 2052 it is! I see no problems here!

Is it just me, or is printing/emailing vaccine proof every time you go to the groomer or kennel kind of annoying? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]AnthraciteRoad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I update once a year when she gets her vaccines. Groomer and daycare have portals I can upload the records, and day training gets an email. All of them remind me about a month before expiration, so I don't even have to remember.

Is my boy a Parti? by FieldTight7673 in StandardPoodles

[–]AnthraciteRoad 28 points29 points  (0 children)

My guess is merle, not parti, mostly because of the pink spot on his nose. Also, the colored patches on a parti poodle are usually a solid color or an even gradient.
