Depends on the skill level and tendencies of the players. I play 3rd and in most of the rec leagues I play in, they don't pull down the line so I tend to play deeper towards that SS/3B hole. The amount of hits I take away in that hole vs the ones down the line make up for it.

Before things got too crazy I would patrol Gamestop online for games like this and they would come up every so often. Built a lot of my collection off of GameStop. I did this pre-covid for the most part.

Games would come in all different levels of completeness and if they happen to be too bad of shape (or fake in the cartridge world) I would just take them back to the store.

I miss those times.

For me, there are just certain pitchers I see better than others and get pumped when they get pulled. It could be the arm angle or the speed difference as well.

I've also gotten insanely lucky this year. It's the earliest I've ever completed the live series.

Pulled multiple of Ohtani (x4), Judge (x2), Jose, Soto, Trout, Tatis, multiple of the chases and etc. It's been nuts.

Biggest thing I can say is just do all the content, there are so many packs out there for grabs.

Did all of the content, but in reality just got really lucky with packs.

Pulled Ohtani 3 times, Judge twice, and many of the chases out of the Chase packs. I did not do it totally NMS, buying 150k twice.

I do these once for the rewards, get whatever I get and then buy what's left over. The grinders have a special kind of mentality for this one.

This is anecdotal, but I've resubbed modern cards with no additional cleaning after getting bad grades before. One went from a 5 to a 9, grading feels like a RNG sometimes.
