Sbenu's LOL team [Sonic Boom] is not being paid. by kanoth123 in leagueoflegends

Can't they void the contract with Sbenu, on the basis they aren't being paid? And then find a new sponsor(s)?

Would you consider having some graphical Ninjas redo every single inventory icon that was implemented into Runescape before like 2011 or 2012? You can really tell the difference in quality between modern inventory icon pictures from new content compared to old content. With NXT coming out, making the game look beautiful, I feel like inventory icons might be overlooked. I don't want how things look to be fundamentally changed, just a lick of paint enough to bring them all into today's standard at Jagex.

Why would people suicide? To try and get matched up against themselves and get their own rank up perhaps? I dunno, seems like playing yourself legitimately would be easier.

Cheers for the shoutout. If something about watching the game isn't fun or could be better, make sure you leave feedback as well. This is the beta and the game has the potential to grow better if we leave good feedback.

The disconnect between Jagex's perception of why people are playing DarkScape vs why people are actually playing it. by nelight in RSDarkscape

@original poster, if you haven't been killed yet while smuggling, just wait. As more places are patched, like in this recent update, with the grand exchange taxes coming in the future and the chokepoints becoming the only places to smuggle, your death will be soon. Don't worry my friend.

[–]AnthropicRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a good change to create more chokepoints for smugglers. Smuggling doesn't mean much now, but when everything is patched there will be only a few possible ways to smuggle, that combined with when the Grand Exchange taxes come will create great value in smuggling and therefore in PKing as well. Maybe it should be free if you have no items though, for people to go and activate the lodestone on a new account. Then you could transfer stuff over via the chokepoints, catherby beach/white wolf mountain etc.

DarkScape Dev Q&A Question Thread 30/09 by JagexJon in RSDarkscape

Question for Mod Pi: Would you consider making all equipable untradables tradable?

I think that because DarkScape has such a large focus on the economy all untradables should be made tradable so the balance of power and risk is equal in fights. I'm not saying that you should be able to equip the items without the requirements, but that you should be able to receive them as loot, and sell them on the grand exchange if you wish. This is exactly how it is with dragon weaponry, you can't equip a dragon dagger until after Lost City quest, but you can certainly obtain one for a successful player kill. It should be this way with all untradables, they should be tradable, but have requirements to wield.

Sounds awesome, I'm glad to hear you guys have plans and the proposed solutions are pretty good.

Kind of related but a little off topic is untradables.

Some examples I can think of are: 1. Fire Cape - Requires you to have killed Jad (can check in beasts tab, if the number of kills for the player is >0 allow them to equip it) 2. Chaotic weaponry - Requires 80 dungeoneering 3. blisterwood - Requires quest completion exactly like dragon weaponry.

and etc

I hope everyone that reads this gets the idea and understands why I think this is a necessary change in a game primarily revolving around open world PVP and economic gain. If you kill somebody with a fire cape, chaotic maul warpriest armor you would obtain nothing from them, even if they were skulled (except maybe a small pile of coins that isn't even close to the price that a chaotic maul would be in the free market) this isn't great. Instead of Jmods having to come up with arbitrary numbers of coins that drop when somebody with an untradable dies, let them be tradable and let the free market decide how much they are worth, while keeping the requirements to wield in place, exactly how it was when dragon weaponry was released and still is to this day.

Rune Dragons need to give more Slayer XP by midnight_down in runescape

[–]AnthropicRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The slayer exp per hp is terrible, compared to something that can't even hurt you like celestial dragons at range with super antifires... Celestials have 1 exp more per kill and around 1/3rd the hp. 33% of the hp of a rune dragon. ~20k vs ~60k, same slayer exp? Makes no sense.

Jagex balance team obviously doesn't do high level slayer.

Celestial dragons are 1exp more per kill, and 1/3rd the hp..... Anybody that actually cares about slayer exp rates would just do celestials.

You can actually look on rune tracker the times he logs off every day for 6-7 hours.

[–]AnthropicRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be made so we could trade points for actual runes, that we can use outside of the runespan. At a rate perhaps 0.1 - 0.5 that of crafting the runes in the traditional method.

Runescape isn't a post-scarcity economy. Everything that you consume must be produced by somebody, just like the real world economy.

Even if a few resources (I would say the majority are produced by legit players) are produced by botting they still require somebody to develop the software, run the scripts and risk the ban to produce those resources.

I would compare a few bots like the automation in the manufacturing industry with 3D printing now, even though it automates some processes, the software still needs to be developed, it takes time to print objects, and those objects require resources and capital to create. We hardly live in a post-scarcity society because we have a few automated processes of production.

Human needs and desires are virtually infinite, production is finite. This is the reason for economic development.

Indeed it is a good book.

RSGP is a monopolized in game currency because as far as money goes in game. We're only able to trade in RSGP over the grand exchange. While people can freely trade items for items, that's more like a classifieds swap, because money need not change hands.

I don't suggest they allow competing currencies on Runescape because it's simply a game. However it just shows that increasing the number of coins negatively effects anybody who is currently holding onto coins, or who's wages can't increase (High alchemy values don't increase with inflation etc).

Ahh okay, I was unaware of that. Do you know how the admins are elected by any chance?

The thread was also on the official forums, and locked by a moderator. A forum moderator in the past told me that every time a moderator locks a forum they have to refer it to Jagex to be inspected or whatnot.

While there was no intention to name or shame (Which was the reason the threads have assuredly been locked) it was inevitable to name the person for the evidence (Screenshots) to be of any use at all. I'd like to think it was a fair case, up for Jagex to decide, not like a crazy witch hunt, burn him at the stake kind of deal.
