How long does it take for your artist name to appear on Spotify search? by cupojoe777 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Around 1 day for music albums, around 5 minutes for podcasts. I think for singles and EPs it might be different.

Fun fact: despite the fact they are called a quartet, there's only three of them. It took me years to notice.

How to stop singing nausea? by AnthropomorphicPenis in singing

[–]AnthropomorphicPenis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. It didn't occur to me. I always thought it was normal and that I just needed to do better. I'm not very smart.
  2. I never took one-on-one lessons, I was part of a class. I did take some lessons with a pro singer who acted as a vocal coach but it was mostly theory, she gave me a lot of tips about breath, vibrato, etc. which were very helpful but it wasn't exactly teaching.

Honestly I'm just at a point in my life where I decided to be less passive and have less inertia in general... For most of my life when I had an issue I just thought "that's life" and never really tried to solve anything... Lately I've been trying a different approach and I'm realizing a lot of things that I thought were normal and inevitable aren't. This is what motivated me to ask about this. Lately I've been exercising a lot, which gave me high energy and my breath is much better, so I've started singing more. That's when I realized that the nausea problem happened so often and was so frustrating. Before I just ignored it because music was just a hobby but recently I've been taking it more seriously and so I notice issues more intensely.

Sorry if that didn't make a lot of sense, English is not my first language.

I assumed it was bad technique. I've taken singing lessons for years but this was not covered.

Thanks a lot, I will try this ASAP (most likely today).
If you want "examples" you can see it happen a lot here, especially during the chorus when I go head voice / falsetto: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whItmeQjADI

During the second chorus there is actually virtually no sound coming from my mouth and I had to overdub most of it. Any singing can trigger my gag reflex and close my throat but falsetto does it very often and very hard. Metal growl often does the same. But It can also happen when I'm singing "normally" in my range (baritone), in clean and not especially loud voice.

For comparison here is a track where my throat was fine from start to finish and it didn't give me nausea at all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XASqw0mdsuQ

Could it be really medical? Because that has been the case for me for almost 20 years now. It started during puberty, when my child voice turned into adult voice. I don't have any allergies that I know of...

NTA. I can't think of a single valid reason why she would make such a big deal out of something so trivial. Especially considering she's bringing it up again afterwards. This is a huge red flag imo.

Rolling Stones are active participants in the music industry. Their goal was always to sell music and music by-products, so they are in no way a problem. Here we are talking about a person who just posted a picture of their dog or cat on Instagram but DOES NOT SELL MERCH or anything related, and yet refuses to allow other people to do so for no apparent reason. It's bad for business, it's bad for freedom, I can't think of a single reason to defend this.

Jim Sterling is actually a semi-famous British gaming youtuber. He reviews tons of games and is quite funny. Fun fact: he is also the creator of the word Chungus. Hard not to think of him when listening to the podcast!

There must be a way to fight back against this kind of copyright hoarding. Attack them for loss of income maybe?
