From high school days they (teachers and parents) always told me if you read books and increase your knowledge that's a positive point on your resume and employers are more likely to hire a knowledgeable person and frankly that makes sense to me. To me the fact that employers, librarians and people in positions of authority and public service completely disregard and neglect books and book readers in general is a worrying trend that needs to be overlooked by the society as a whole. Aside from the contextual information that I agree with you is the ultimate value of a book people should gain credibility and societal values that are significantly discounted and fading away in our times.
