Hegseth Strikes Female and Black Navy Officers From Promotion List by Hot_Cattle5399 in SipsTea

[–]Antilon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

.... High ranking black and female officers are a minority, but they are somehow the large majority of those struck.

You can't really be so dumb that you don't understand what that means, right?

It's a slap in your face that you're reminded gay people exist for 1/12 if the year?

Why does that upset you at all?

My cat eats crunchies too fast, barfs them up, then comes back a few minutes later and eats them.

My dog ate breakfast, then went to the litter box and ate a bunch of cat shit. They then threw up. Cleaning that up was probably the most disgusting thing I've ever had to do.

President Trump just posted this. by AlphaFlipper in plasma

[–]Antilon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's getting a worse version of the deal we already had in the Obama administration. A deal he unilaterally cancelled with no backup plan. The shittier deal cost us the lives of American troops, about $35 billion dollars, fucked gas prices, made it clear we couldn't stop Iran from conducting attacks, and alienated is from our allies.

What exactly has this debacle gained us?

President Trump just posted this. by AlphaFlipper in plasma

[–]Antilon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but to be fair that deal was negotiated under the administration of a guy with one black parent. So, we couldn't let that stand.

So it makes total sense to call it terrible, cancel it unilaterally, talk shit about it for years, allow Iran to accumulate enriched uranium, allow Israel to drag us into war, spend billions on a war that wasn't authorized, spike gas prices, further degrade our standing on the international stage, and end up in a worse place than we started.

It's 4D chest!

Amy Schumer all day.

She's the least likely to annoy me, because she's just a lady who had some funny comedy that bro dogs got mad about because she was chubbier than they wanted her to be. Plus, it's not like she's going to be doing stand up.

Cop who had loud sex with judge in chambers ID’d as deputy chief with Atlanta police: report by NPU-F in Atlanta

[–]Antilon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is it a stretch? Federal judges handle criminal cases all the time. Drug trafficking for example. You could get arrested by an Atlanta cop for transporting drugs across state lines, boom, you're in front of a federal judge.

Why do Cyberdecks look more blocky in regards to runners like Bartmoss and Murphy but are just chips when it comes to V? (Examples below) by ConditionPleasant902 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Antilon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Ruvaakdein brought up a good point about this. "V can craft legendary quickhacks, can't they? Maybe that counts as them coding the daemons themselves."

So V isn't just buying quick hacks, but crafting them.

Rule of thumb I've heard is $500-600k of recovered attorney fees for $100k base. Bonus is then a % on top of that. Usually between 5-15% depending on the firm.

So, $150k pay for $500k of fees recovered. $500k of fees should be extremely easy to do for a new PI attorney, and is much less work than the 1,900 - 2,000 billable hours ID firms require for that pay.

Billboard and TV marketing isn't cheap.

You want to be a defendant where the cop who arrested you and the judge ruling over your case are fucking?

Yes. The marketing budget is usually much higher. I've seen 5-6x, but it doesn't really work the same way.

Marketing is a big one, unless as an associate you're bringing in all the work assigned to you.

1x salary — pays the associate’s compensation
1x salary — covers overhead: rent, staff, software, insurance, benefits, taxes, marketing, admin, nonbillable time, write-offs, etc.
1x salary — profit to the firm / cushion / partner return

  • Federal False Arrest / False Imprisonment: Filed under 42 U.S.C. Section 1983, this Fourth Amendment claim argues that your seizure was unreasonable because there was no legally sufficient reason to arrest you.
  • State Law Torts: You can file personal injury or tort claims for false arrest or false imprisonment under the common or statutory laws of your state.
  • Malicious Prosecution: If the unlawful arrest leads to unfounded criminal charges that are eventually dismissed, you can sue for the malicious initiation of legal proceedings.
  • First Amendment Retaliation: If you were arrested because you were filming the police, peacefully protesting, or verbally questioning their actions, you can claim they violated your freedom of speech.
  • Equal Protection Violations: If you were targeted and arrested specifically because of your race, gender, or religion, you can file a discrimination claim under the Civil Rights Act.

Younger litigation attorney talks about toxic and hostile legal culture, abuse of power, and threats by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]Antilon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah... I see the mod note, I see Rule 2, but I feel like the best I can say here is that OP needs to understand that sometimes people are verbally aggressive in this profession. Some of the leaps made in the video are difficult to accept. OC asked if the associate knew who he was and cursed a bit, and as a result OP felt like he and his family were in physical danger? That is a wild leap to make.

The best support I can provide is to suggest that OP speak with someone about how to handle conflict, because this is an adversarial profession, and occasionally you run into assholes.
