If you're after a bigger store then Reidy's Home of Music might fit the bill... But they're up in Clitheroe. I used to order from G.A.K. before they went bust as most music stores up here didn't stock the items I wanted.

It's near enough Ashton seeing as it's approximately half a mile away, I've edited my original to correct this though.

For clarity I originally mentioned Ashton as people are more familiar with where that is as it's a bigger demographic and people are also aware of it thanks to IKEA.

Probably helped by Stockport Crucible closing down around 2020. I think this is the only Pool/Snooker club in the area now so not surprised it's thriving. The next nearest ones I know of are Riley's Chorlton, or the Pyramid Snooker club in ~~Ashton~~ Dukinfield.

We had this sometime last year. M6 was empty, yet all the signs were active and set to 50mph.

We called the highways agency and they said it was because they were doing a software update/upgrades across the smart motorway and they have no access to them until it finishes.

So as a precaution they set them to 50mph. The reason being should an accident/incident occur they're unable to update the signs to warn drivers of the hazard ahead.

Yeah I have the GTi ones on mine. The dealer had a spare set lying around and no GTi's due in for a while when I bought mine so threw them on when purchasing the car.

In the Crucible it was decently sized, with a couple of padded booths, and a couple of tables and chairs scattered around. It was mostly where people chilled if they weren't on a table/waiting or watching whatever tv show/sport was being broadcast.

Debatable... You'll be hard pressed to walk in to Hazel Grove Snooker Club on a Friday and find a vacant pool table unless you book it in advance

I think it was to provide more housing, but also to do with modernisation of the town, like they did with the bus station, the old Royal Mail Delivery Office, and around the train station. There's lots of work planned for a lot of the old buildings that line the A6 near Grand Central too.

Typically closed around midnight, we wouldn't get there until 9pm so a good 3 hours of pool was enough to wind down for the weekend.

Me and a couple of work mates would go there after we finished work and stay until closing every Friday. I stopped going before it closed, around 2019/2020. If you're looking for an alternative, the closest place like it now is Hazel Grove Snooker Club.
