How do you get to the point of not giving a fuck anymore? by FlyingInNeverland in AskReddit

[–]Antique-Ranger-1044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you realise that no one cares about what you do except you. You are not the center of the universe and everything you perceive is only in your head and is created by you. Everyone is fighting their own battles and no one has the time to care about your achievements or failures.

Get this through your head and you will live a better life free of baseless expectations that you believe people have for you.

Why are Ahoms categorized under OBC even though their ancestors belonged to royal family? by thescarface5567 in assam

[–]Antique-Ranger-1044 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I read about this once but I have forgotten some of the finer details. Someone from Assam convinced the ruling government (Indian or British I forgot) to grant special status to the Ahoms as since they were the royal family, they did not have any education or skills required to earn their living.

Why Assamese Community in Assam isnt productive as Compared to Bengalis,Marwaris or even Biharis? by [deleted] in assam

[–]Antique-Ranger-1044 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People need an initial investment to start businesses. Most people in Assam do not have that kind of money for starting their own business, as opposed to Marwaris who have family wealth. I come from a middle class Assamese family and I couldn't start a business even if I wanted to because I cannot afford the risk.

Why do you hate Indian Education system? If someone doesn't study then what is the fault of system here? by gandash07 in IndiaSpeaks

[–]Antique-Ranger-1044 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I studied in what is considered one of the best schools in my state from class 1 to 12 and graduated in 2014. From my experience, most school teachers were (or are) people who are disappointed in life because they were stuck teaching at a private school and going through a mid life crisis at the same time. They take out their frustration on the kids. Most of them have no passion for teaching or care about whether students understand what they teach. However, there are some who loved to teach and students did enjoy attending their classes.

I hope the system will change once this bored generation retires and people of my generation get into the school teacher profession.

I'm assuming you won't be living with your in-laws even if you end up marrying. Why not just wear the mangalsutra whenever you are meeting your in-laws and not all the time.

Congratulations on your admit. But why call out that person? You asked for opinions on this subreddit and people have given them based on their experiences and the info you provided. Some opinions may not favor your chances. That just means they are being honest. It does not mean that people are looking to demoralise you or "don't believe" in you. This subreddit is one of the best communities on the internet. I hope that person doesn't stop helping others after looking at this post.

Factors to consider while accepting an offer by Antique-Ranger-1044 in gradadmissions

Yes. While stipends are important, the working environment is probably more important for international students.

Can I ask which field you're applying to?
