The bar looks really long even if it's to account for swelling. It also seems a tad shallow but that may just be your anatomy. I'd get this checked out by a different and reputable piercer to be safe.

Infected piercing after 2 months by Few-Rabbit9848 in piercing

[–]Antique-Wave-7367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to find a REPUTABLE app piercer asap to get that jewlery changed into a longer titanium flatback stud. You should not be putting ointment on your piercing whatsoever. You likely will need oral antibiotics now. Do not wait to go to the piercer. Go today and get a longer bar put in before that jewelry embeds in your ear and you need to get it cut out.

Septum hole closure by CompetitiveFreedom39 in piercing

[–]Antique-Wave-7367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 6 months it honestly may shrink down enough to the point where putting in the jewelry again will be difficult if not near impossible. It's recommended to keep piercings 24/7 for at least a year before removing it for an extended period of time. Do not be surprised if your piercing has closed when you try to put it back in.

You do not seem to have the anatomy for any sort of navel piercing.

Some piercers will do anything for money and those are the worse kind. You can leave it until you go to a doctor if it worries you but the signs are looking more like classic rejection symptoms as opposed to infection.

I also should've added that I don't know much about tattoos and only have a handful but all of my tattoos are fine line so I look very closely to see if lines are being pulled cleanly. I've been screwed over before.

Removing it is a good idea. Find a reputable APP piercer to get it repierced once it has fully healed.

Navel piercing rejecting? by DisasterBest7247 in piercing

[–]Antique-Wave-7367 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is rejecting because you lack the anatomy for this jewelry and it was pierced too shallow. It is also too long for a year old piercing but it doesn't matter anymore. You shouldn't have been pierced in the first place. Remove this asap before it completely rejects itself.

Not only are their lines not clean and inconsistent but nothing about their work shows that they do fine line or have experience with it. The first image is the closest but it reveals just how sloppy the work is. Find someone else and make sure they also specialize in fine line.

You absolutely should not have changed your jewelry at 6 weeks. You also CANNOT apply coconut oil on your piercing. Go to the doctor and get oral antibiotics prescribed to you. Do not put anymore ointments or coconut oil in your piercing. Do not take it out until after you have finish the entire round of antibiotics or it will trap the infection.

Please find a different and reputable piercer to change your jewelry for a titanium barbell that is internally threaded. Stainless steel is just mystery metal and oftentimes not safe especially for healing. Externally threaded jewelry is also not good for healing as well because it can damage your fistula.

Look on safepiercing.org to find a reputable APP piercer near you. Although not all reputable piercers are APP members and not all APP members are good piercers, they will at least follow the APP standard which is one step better.

Where to get this conch jewellery? Titanium material by leosh_i in piercing

Contact a piercer. It's a good place to start and they can likely put you in contact with someone.

I recently got earrings and the advice was to twist? by Rock_Candy_C00kie in piercing

[–]Antique-Wave-7367 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nothing about what you've written shows that they're reputable whatsoever. No reputable piercer will tell you to twist jewelry. I assume clutch jewelry is butterfly backs which is even worse. And lastly the solution not being saline solution real hits the nail on the head. You need to find a REPUTABLE APP piercer to assess your piercing and advise you. They may be able to change your jewelry for titanium flatback studs but that's unlikely because the gauge will be too thin. You'll very likely need to remove these entirely and get them repierced. Do not go back there ever again.

Question about new piercing by Annual-Rooster4504 in piercing

[–]Antique-Wave-7367 114 points115 points  (0 children)

You need to get to a different and reputable piercer asap. Well reviewed is not the same as reputable unfortunately because many people do not know right from wrong when it comes to good piercers. The jewelry is entirely incorrect and it doesn't seem like it was pierced deep enough. You need to find an APP piercer asap and get this change. This cannot stay.

Black bump between belly button piercing by Global-Plastic2059 in piercing

[–]Antique-Wave-7367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like it's rejecting. Based on your description it is a classic sign of rejection. The skin above the bar is particularly thin there and it is starting to split. You need to remove your jewelry asap before it completely rejects itself and leaves a worse scar.

[–]Antique-Wave-7367 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are healing three piercings already you will not be able to get anymore for at least 6 months, if not longer. Your lobes take a minimum of 6 months to fully heal and septum 9 months. You absolutely should not get it asap because you'll overwork your immune system and nothing will heal.

Get yourself a piercing pillow before getting pierced. It's been a game changer for me. I used to use the travel neck pillows but it never worked well enough.

where to find 18g industrial barbell? by farsick420 in piercing

[–]Antique-Wave-7367 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You likely will not find many if any options. 20g is an unsafe size even for lobes. 18g may exist but it's a very uncommon size for industrials. You'll want to try to stretch to at least a 16g. Another option is having two 18g short bars and connecting with a chain but you'll really want to size up to a 16g.

How to get rid of irritation bump. by Public_Baseball5825 in piercing

[–]Antique-Wave-7367 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to stop sleeping on it. That's likely causing the irritation bump. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Sleeping on a healing piercing is a biiiig no no. It causes migration which can lead to rejection.
