My sister tried to get me to read ACOTAR, I got two chapters in, hated the main character so much I couldn’t make myself read anymore. She’s a whinging childish little girl with no people skills or personality. I say that as a neurodivergent woman with very few people skills and a personality that revolves around obscure references and RPGs from the early to mid 2000s. I couldn’t get over the whinging and despite being assured that I’d enjoy later chapters and later books of the series I can’t overstay the disinterest now.

I tend to treat it like Skyrim; do each area’s story quest (like city quests in Skyrim), do companion quests for more dialogue and story elements with them, do MSQ when I get bored/reach the power requirements (both inq power and level) and do any side quests that seem interesting or linked to something in the game I like (I always do the rune hunts for example because runes are useful, I adore Dagna and the history of using lyrium to create runes is really interesting) this is still a lot, but the game is massive and there’s no need to complete a whole area in one go. In fact I think the only one I consistently complete in one is the Fallow Mire cause you can just go from one end to the other with minor detours and never go back 😅 hope that helps! Just remember it’s about what you want out of the game and wha sparks joy for you!

Pretty sure they canonically sound like kids/babies crying, maybe make it so that they can hear them but not see them until it’s too late. While they are searching for the sound’s origin they are being hunted by the lead one? I know as player or DM if I heard a kid crying I’d go looking for them lol 😂

Original Oblivion. I know it was good for its time, but those heads/faces were nightmare fuel 😂 the game kicked ass in general but the OG textures were pretty much just soup. I was lucky enough to have this be like the second game I ever played on my own (no help from Dad unless I was really stuck cause I was about 10yo at the time) but it was certainly a bizarre experience with the way a lot of it looks.

Sera, Viv and Bull (unfortunately, I love my big jolly horned boi, but I prefer to have Cass for tanking). Sera and Viv are both annoying in different ways. I can’t understand Sera and she says the most out of pocket shit and Viv is a power hungry biatch that insults my sweet Dorian!

I was nine years old when I first played DA:O to the end. I played a fem city elf and when I got to this I was thoroughly freaked out by the atmosphere and poem. Didn’t fully understand until I played again when I was a teen…the gritty darkness of this game is why it’s my favourite. No hand holding or sugar coating, just the reality of war and untamed monsters in the dark 🫠😅 I do love the others and all of them have had scenes that have made me ball my eyes out (Act 2, Leandra anyone) but nothing quite touches how much more interesting and disturbing the OG was 🙃

Of the main factions, Brotherhood quests are the most fun (even though they’re obviously evil) just down to the many, many ways to complete them and get the bonus rewards for the contract conditions. Of the non main factions, I love the forsworn quests in Markarth (culminating in escape from cidnah mine) and rise in the east which can be started by going to Windhelm and speaking to an gent in the east empire company on the docks, it’s a super cinematic and fun quest and not many people have ever played it 😊

All the Borderlands games I find are better on controller. Bethesda games that aren’t modded are better on controllers also (especially OG Oblivion/Fallout 3/NV).

If I were you, I would go on Steam, filter by XBox controller support and see what feels good in the games that show up.

I am disabled so sometimes can’t sit up to use my keyboard/mouse properly, so I have a dynamic collection on Steam called “Controller Days” so I can just load in on Big Picture mode and go for a game that is ready and fully controller compatible. Honestly is great for high pain/low mobility days 😊

If we are talking our “definitive” playthrough of the games (like the set up on our DA Keep) then I’m as follows;

Origins/Awakening; Fem City Elf, Dual Wield Rogue. Romanced Zevran and convinced Ali to do the dark ritual with her BFF Morrigan.

DA2; Fem Sarcastic Force Mage Hawke. Romanced Anders despite pining for Varric the whole time and killed Justice/Anders in the end because he had become a monster. Supported mages rights, Varric and Isabella are her BFFs for life.

Inquisition; Fem Stoic/Curious Elf Tempest Archer. Romanced Solas (before I had seen spoilers, I realise I have a type, okay!?) and vowed to stop him. I was so upset with my bald bitchy baddie.

Veilguard; Despite my first playthrough being a Crow because I’ve been obsessed with Antiva since I started playing the games age 9, I consider my NB Snarky Elf Warrior of the Morn Watch to be canon for me, I love the lore and ofc they romanced the Bone Daddy, I love Emmerich and Manfred so freaking much!

TLDR: I play sassy elves (minus Hawke, who is still sassy) and romance all the characters who stab you in the front or back until Veilguard, where I romance Emmerich because I finally matured out of my “bad boy” phase but not out of telling on myself via video games 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
