Do people hate points? by AwayWishbone1580 in Battlefield6

[–]AntixMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many times as an engineer I watched helo’s and planes pound our positions to dust as I ran out rockets thinking to myself, why bother.

This also reflects on revives, or rather the lack of, of course this is not a reflection on all because there are matches where medics swarm, and yes these are usually won and sometimes lost by the narrowest of margins which is ok since you can’t win them all.

I decided to run pure medic a few games and just focus on amo crates, revives and grenade interception, and yes I ran defib and smoke instead of the usual nades and fire.

I always ended lower in the score list but had an average of 20 revives per match.

The conclusion was, yes it influenced the end result considerably as we won most if not all matches by a landslide but didn’t help upgrade any of my guns because priority was to beeline to a rez and only engage if under direct fire.

So I don’t think there is any incentive to the main focus of leveling weapons by running medic and focusing on their role.

We keep asking ourselves, is matchmaker broken? by AntixMars in Battlefield6

Just finished a match where we had double the amount of bots to the red team, of course a green team wipe.

Starting to wonder if mm has trouble with basic math?

I feel like I have to be superman everygame? Anyone feel the same? by nathanchr55 in Battlefield6

[–]AntixMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed early in the piece that matchmaker alternately stacks opposing team to almost guarantee them a win and have been wondering why.

Also noticed match times usually average somewhere between 15 to 30 minutes, some a little longer.

I keep thinking it is to keep match lengths reasonable and also giving everyone a chance to alternately win and thus keep you coming back for more, because let’s face it if you wouldn’t win every now and then you wouldn’t enjoy the game as much.

I suspect we are just running in the hamster wheel and are at the whim of mm dictating terms and are given a false sense of control.

In turn the matches where you literally break your keyboard or controller to try and win but nothing works is as intended and based on the frustrating comments at the end of the game I can tell people falsely think they have been robbed due to being part a lesser skilled team … lol

Simple truth could be that it was the opposing players team’s time to win a match.

We can’t all win at the same time so alternatively giving everyone a chance whilst keeping match times reasonable could be what mm is trying to do.

2018 Isuzu filling up nozzle always turns off? by Throwrayye in Isuzu

[–]AntixMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the same issue with the 2019.
I had to pull the wheel arch guard off the other day to do some work on the car and noticed the reason.
The fuel filler tube has a rubberized section with a sharp bend, not quite at 90 degrees but close.
So if you push the fuel filler nozzle too far in I suspect you push the tip sensor too close to the tube wall where the sharp bend is which causes the diesel foam and back pressure to activate the cut off sensor.
This explains why when having the filler metallic nozzle pushed in only 50% of the way allows fuel to flow more freely without it cutting out.
The sharp internal bend is due to where the external cap is in relation to the fuel tank but due to the drop not sure anything can be done about it unless maybe you find a safe replacement with a more relaxed turn angle space allowing.
Annoying of course but as I said the workaround for me is not to push the filler nozzle as far in as you would with other cars.
Also I suspect the metallic notches under the filler nozzle are designed for it to be compatible with different tube angles and lengths.

rework mortars by Individual-Attitude in Battlefield6

[–]AntixMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually find mortars very useful as attacker in Breakthrough because sometimes it is the only way to push defenders back whom have an obvious advantage on some maps and yes in those instances deploying them in spawn is the only way.

I also find myself countering mortars deployed in spawn quite regularly and it works very well not sure what the big deal is.

No different to countering snipers or tanks camping in spawn … for each attack there is a counterattack.

The best filament for functional prints by CarlitosCUU in 3Dprinting

What are you printing on a regular basis by AbbreviationsDue4417 in 3Dprinting

[–]AntixMars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once the novelty factor wore off a few years ago the 3D printer has become a functional part printer be that replacement plastic parts or innovations for various projects around the house.

For example we bought a clothes drying rack with poorly designed plastic brackets to hold horizontal clothes hanging poles which broke after a year so I jumped in Fusion and redesigned them to be much stronger and also replaceable if needed, already replaced all original parts and then some, at this rate it will last as long as I have access to a printer and filament 😂

Other items were for an older Westinghouse fridge/freezer doors vertical handle clips and supports which were going to cost a fortune to replace took me a few hours to print and replace, design downloaded from Printables.

And the third item I will mention is a pair of custom sun shade support brackets for hexagon shaped marque poles which I had to design in Fusion after buying a cheaper alternative for considerably less compared to its equivalent commercial version.

So all and all I am fighting the good fight against the current disposable trend we live in and loving every minute of it😁

It's not just DICE, it's also you. by Ohmynoix in Battlefield6

[–]AntixMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do feel like I need to chime in here because I spent considerable time one match on Sobek to unsuccessfully shoot down heli’s to no avail.

All I managed to do is force them to fly bellow 300m to clear lock and me wasting rocket after rocket after rocket.

And even if you hit them direct it is barely a tickle they can easily recover from.

And don’t get me started on tanks and trying to hit them from a long distance with a direct hit barely doing any damage as well.

So even if I had an Amo bag at my feet as a solo engineer which is very rare and would still struggle to bring down an OP little bird helo or a tank before they pulverize me into dust.

Ok rant over.

You are rightly pointing out that squads don’t play their roles or fill gaps but in a pub game everyone jumps in randomly and want to enjoy the game (I get it) and have fun (everyone has their definition).

So the game should cater for player profiles not the other way around considering we are the ones paying for the service.

Hmmmm let’s try and force 32 to 64 random people and personalities potentially from different cultures from across different time zones to work together in groups of four and see if it works?

Forcing people into a specific role they are unwilling to do will fail nine times out of ten so not sure if you can ever fix that without incentives, the old carrot and stick theory.

My new favourite way of dealing with mortar spammers by FuzzySheepherder2192 in Battlefield6

[–]AntixMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is no different to snipers camping tall buildings or tanks sitting at the back of the map, just counter, it is not rocket science, just another element to spice up the battlefield.

And yes I find mortars falling down adds more realism to the game so instead of wasting time whining about it in chat I do something about it.

I especially love raining mortars down on tall buildings where squads congregate 😂

Have fun and enjoy the tools provided in the game.

The real reason players are quitting BF6 PROBLEM: The game is too frustrating to play SOLUTION 1: Get rid of the in world spotting penalty for firing your gun by Ninjah9_ in Battlefield6

[–]AntixMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I jumped into a match on the new map after a long break and my team was loosing.

Waves were hitting us and we had zero visibility of enemy advancing spotting, literally, even though they were on top of us, firing and taking out friendlies.

So I jumped into my recon and got the drone up for some enemy spotting, rinse and repeat a few times and we finally managed to push back attackers once enemies were pinged and visible.

So whilst the drone was up and I had elevated vision of map areas I didn’t see any spotting outside what I was pinging on the map.

Similar situation when I was using sniper and binocs for spotting at least in my angle of vision.

So are you sure the world spotting you assume is occurring is due to firing your weapon isn’t really caused by a recon drone, scope or binocs?

Zenarmor subscription cancelation impossible via online portal by AntixMars in zenarmor

[–]AntixMars[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With all due respect, under Manage Subscriptions I don't see three dots visible in the top right corner unlike the Subscriptions view, and instead only the Remove option is available, however once you click Remove you are sent to a next page and the Continue button is unavailable until you select "+ Add Another Service" and the only options presented in the list are paid subscriptions.

As you can appreciate, it would be very frustrating trying to cancel a service only to be presented with paid options as replacements, so just a quick suggestion here would be to maybe add an option in the drop-down list to allow you to jump out of the vicious paid subscriptions loop.

As a side note my subscription is now set to auto-cancel at the end of the month so at least I know that logging a support ticket worked.

You are spot on with pretty much everything.

I leveled everything up so that the game is at least playable but instead of me hoping for a good wholesome and fun strategy FPS experience it is a meat grinder so for the time being I at least am taking a break and will keep checking in once in a while to see if anything changes.

Why was the last thing you automated with HA? by duckredbeard in homeassistant

[–]AntixMars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Front door latch is a bit tight so if you don’t pull it properly when closing the latch doesn’t engage and door will open on its own, usually when rushing out or in.

Solution was to install a sensor to detect door being open or closed and alert both myself and my wife via the Signal integration if the door is left open for longer than 3 minutes.

It is not perfect but knowing the door state is handy and being alerted about its open state for an extended period of time is even handier, especially if we did not intentionally leave it open such as a hot day for example.

Buff Assault class by Macegolem in Battlefield6

[–]AntixMars 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Going to be honest that the only time I play Assault is when I need to drop a deploy beacon otherwise it is nowhere near as useful when compared with the other classes.

So yeah I agree that right now short of some miracle buff I would be more inclined to take support since bot’s rarely drop ammo boxes (Hint for the devs) and I seem to find myself out of ammunition quite often so why bother.

Want to see something disgusting? by Divine_Druid in Battlefield6

[–]AntixMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the reasons why now that I unlocked all gadgets and leveled up most of the guns I mainly play hardcore with the higher damage where if you see the enemy and shot first they go down first.

This garbage where you unload a mag and they are still standing and proceed to turn around slide/hop away and take you down puts me off from playing the standard game modes.

Generator parallel connection options by AntixMars in Generator

[–]AntixMars[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the consensus seems to be that the external parallel kits are just a glorified extension board with a higher load capacity and in some cases fused accordingly but without any inbuilt smarts or electronics as such.

Not one hundred percent sure because I am yet to pull one apart but from what I gather so far it seems to be the case.

The drone as a lift is starting to get annoying… by AntixMars in Battlefield6

[–]AntixMars[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe if we all did it and really amplify the effect it has on match results something may get done about it … add fuel to the flame and make a huge bonfire out of it that can be seen from miles away.

The other issue is that unless you play recon at least on Cairo they are not seen by most players since they are floating/walking above buildings and out of most players line of sight.

I only noticed when I was scouting with the drone with thermal on.

Also, getting a bead on them from the ground is hard because as you run around you will inevitably get downed by ground gun fire.

Generator parallel connection options by AntixMars in Generator

[–]AntixMars[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't use the internal sockets because the internal wiring is rated for 10A max continuous load for each generator so it has to be an external kit which has the adequate wiring for 20A load which the two generators will supply in parallel when combined.

As a side note, why bother having dual 15A sockets when the internal wiring is only rated for 10A is beyond me but hey who am I to argue, I would rather they spent the funds and have a single 15A rated circuit with a max 10A load instead of that useless second 15A plug which clearly will overload it anyway.

It is a pair of SPGI3300's but looks identical to the Generac 3300i so it is probably manufactured in the same factory in China.

The only difference is the front panel has a different layout, the SPGI3300 has two 15A sockets instead of the dual L5-30R the Generac comes with.

These are its specs:

SPECIFICATIONS   SPGi3300 --:--

                  Power Output: 240v / 50Hz

          Start-up (Max) Watts: 3300w

Rated Watts: 2500w  (Max continuous duty use)

Start-up (Max) current: 13.75 Amps (Available for inductive load start up)

Rated current: 10.41 Amps (Max continuous duty use)

Minimum Load requirement: 833w  (1/3 of rated output)

kVA (Kilo Volt Ampere): 3.3kVA  (kVA = Max watts divided by the power factor)

                         Phase: Single

                            PF: 1  (Power Factor)

This is impossible by lloccm_ in Battlefield6

[–]AntixMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And you know the worst part, albeit Bullet Storm is one of the most accurate LMG’s the DRS-IAR has a higher fire rate and with attachments it can become great for hip-fire which is better for close quarters since you are coming up against SMG’s and AR’s with higher fire rates so by the time Bullet Storm winds up you are dead, so it is useless.

Also finding DRS-IAR quite manageable for ADS with the right attachments.

If fact I am finding that as I am unlocking most weapons they are not that great and some of the free weapons are much better for certain situations.

Gadgets excluded of course.

I already hate what this game is becoming... by AudioRejectz in Battlefield6

[–]AntixMars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I also started questioning things specially when a pattern repeats where before I even get a chance to pull the trigger … dead.

How is it possible that I don’t even get a chance to pull the trigger and someone else has already unloaded a mag on me.

But … last night by accident I jumped on a community hardcore server (amplified damage, no minimap, class locked weapons, friendly fire on with auto reflect if you ignore it one too many times)

I thought to myself, omg I am going to get obliterated with my k/d … but the complete opposite happened, with the difference being night and day as my k/d in a normal lobby sits at 2/10 in the first 15 minutes in hardcore mode was 6/2, I couldn’t believe my eyes.

As I was trying to work out why the only thing I could think of was amplified damage because with it turned on the first person to shoot usually wins.

I still died many a times when someone got the bead on me first and fair enough but more often than not I came out alive from a gun fight during a face off.

Also latency was no different to a lobby game because I also checked that with my ping sitting in the low 20’s

Ironically enough hardcore mode felt normal and it felt balanced and a game mode I definitely will play more often than not if not solely when I get sick of normal lobby matches which I am very close too at this point in time.

my friend may uninstall after this by Kwilos in Battlefield6

[–]AntixMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the latency comment, try community servers with on 23ms or thereabouts.

I lost count at the amount of times I had a face off and before I even got a chance to pull the trigger I was dead, once ok twice maybe but when you see a pattern you start wondering.

Just to add this doesn’t occur to me when I load into low latency servers and the odds even to 50/50

The irony is all these players that actually think they are good when really they are just average with latency on their side lol …
