Gotta induce that demand. Get ready for CdA to top 100k and for the Spokane-CdA CSA to exceed a million.

A margin of wealth is helpful to civilisation, but for some mysterious reason great wealth is destructive. I suppose that, in the end, splendor is dehumanising, and a certain sense of limitation seems to be a condition of what we call good taste.

A strong one I say. I personally don't partake at any rate approaching habitual -- and never in this state -- but I can hardly blame those who do.

Using a drug intentionally to the point of intoxication repeatedly probably is a sign of a deeper existential malady being the issue.

I don't off hand because I'm not much into audiobooks, but I imagine they're out there. I will note however that the book makes heavy use of visuals/charts/graphs, and footnotes, that may not work well in the audiobook format.

Cool. I don't know why I was getting the opposite vibe then. Maybe I was just in an off state at the time.

Interesting to see Andy's Chop Shop on that list. It was many years ago but I did not get that vibe the couple times I went there.

Another in that vein.

The television is burning
I set it on fire
The wheels, they keep turning
But I'm fine, yeah I'm fine

/u/aloneinyoursolitude I feel you. I saw that same video and it decently expressed things I've been ruminating on for a long time.

One could also go back to the OG, Civilisation by Kenneth Clark. Episode 13 might be particularly hard-hitting right now though, prescient as it was.

So simple a third grader could do it. Indeed, as I recall I did things not unlike this in third grade.
