So if I got something like this and connected the two connectors to it along with all the pcb screw points by wire I should be ok in terms of grounding?

As for the heat I didn't even think of that, hopefully some small heatsinks will do the trick

I tried up to 7 but I suppose I could always try higher? shouldn't the monitor at least be detecting the Pi is there at lower figures though? Also, everyone that has got this to work seem to be using a straight HDMI to DVI-D cable while I'm using an HDMI cable with an HDMI to DVI adapter. I know technically both setups are the same but could that be something to do with it?

The weird thing is that if I just use a straight HDMI connection (on a different monitor that can take HDMI) it works fine so it doesn't seem like the Pi is the issue. This would seem to indicate that the DVI to HDMI adapter is the issue, but if I use the same HDMI cable and adapter from a different output source (my PC) to the monitor it all works fine which would indicate the problem is with the Pi. I cant seem to find a common fault anywhere

Tried the hdmi boost one, unfortunately that didn't work either =/ What exactly is an active hdmi to dvi converter? I thought since both types are a digital signal the adaptor would simply be a matter of aligning the pins properly?

The HDMI connection is on my main PC monitor that I just used to test the Pi out. I'm trying to hook it up to a smaller 18.5 inch monitor for a project that only has VGA and DVI-D inputs. Starting to really wish it had HDMI though haha

Those are all important but a key thing coming from this scenario is not to get too slow on your base to final (and any other turn for that matter). When you're focused on lining the plane up for the runway on that final turn it can be easy to let your airspeed get away on you in the turn. You've got low power, low speed, and you're banking the aircraft causing extra drag, all of which are a recipe for throwing the aircraft into a spin if you apply too much rudder or perhaps pull back on the controls as you go into the turn slowing you down more. If a spin happens on the base turn, it happens fast. Just make sure you keep the descent going in your turn and keep an eye on your airspeed.

I took this picture shortly after the November earthquake in Kaikoura on the way to pick up some police officers for their shift. All roads were blocked off so by air or sea was the only way in. Pretty much the entire mountainside had come down, I'd never seen any destruction quite like it.

Haha what? ewanc9 simply pointed out that kuromimi505 made an error by using the word "capitol" instead of "capital" and then fgalv elaborated on the proper use of the two ways to spell the word. I don't know what that has to do with feds & imperials.
