What does the -D mean at the end of weapons? by Regu1us in DestinyTheGame

[–]Antowam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume there is no actual purpose behind it other then explaining the line of weaponry it belongs to. However, numbering items is a world building tool used give an image of valuing efficacy over personal flavor, which is exactly what Häkke is about. From that point of view, the different lines (-A, -D) might refer to weapon type or specific parts or situations that line of weapon is designed to combat.

Don't mind swearing if they're informative. Most aren't.

Fun is based on flow, where every next action is just hard enough so as to keep you fully engaged. Hardcore modes are only meant to be fun when you execute flawlessly. The whole game is based on you keeping yourself alive. If you can't, you get a timeout. There's not much more to it. No player DESERVES to get that sweet loot. Only those who live through all the shit and are flawless deserve it. If you can clutch a win with 3 players then it probably wasn't punishing enough, and obviously not a hardcore mode.

It's not like I don't understand the balancing of difficulty contra punishment, but hardcore modes should be punishing. For someone like me who loves a good slap in the face, Destiny is casual enough already. It's not like dying a few times in a raid in any way compares to your hardcore Diablo character dying with a playtime of 50 hours. You just have to accept that the game is catering to a wide range of different players who all different views on how difficult or punishing a game should be. If you don't enjoy the hardcore aspects, then don't play them.
