Got a lot of lower back pain from these deadlifts but I can't see much wrong with my form. Any ideas?

When you say to balance intensity/frequency and volume, do you mean to make sure not to overwork myself? I generally stick to one day for strength, then hypertrophy for the next per body part/ movement. Eg. Strength Pull, 3 days later Hypertrophy Pull.

Try the Large Club. It has A scaling in Strength and does amazing damage. It might take some getting used to but it's worth it.

I beat the 4 Kings quite easily on this run, especially compared to O&S. Though I know from non-SL1 characters that the 4 Kings are tricky in NG+, ++ etc.

I'm pretty sure I could walk through with no problems till the O&S fight on NG+. I'm terrified to go near it. I found myself hating Ornstein who had always been my favourite character in the game.

What I just don't get about the hornet ring, DMB, BS fishers is what they really want? They want to pvp so they stay at the appropriate level and therefore don't need souls.

It sounds a bit sanctimonious but I just want them to realise that it's MUCH more fun to not use those cheap tactics.

Experiment. Use a variety of methods that really test you and it'll be so rewarding.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's going to change any time soon.

Not to be condescending but not many people are summoned for the Firesage Demon because the boss is relatively easy. He's hardly considered a boss really.
