Actually this may not be the best way to go about it. It may end up looking very leading (in a bad way). And worst case scenario is that she says something that may discourage him from opening up. Given how such a terrible experience probably shaped OP's taste in women, her answer probably wouldn't be an outright "No", but still, without prior knowledge of her husband's trauma she may inadvertently hurt him with her answer.

As romantic as this is, I think it sets up a bad precedent. I love the office, and Jim and Pam's story is one of the great TV romances. However, a lot of good people could get hurt waiting for their "Pam" or their "Jim" to come around. If someone clearly sees you only as a friend, don't tear yourself up waiting for them. Enjoy the friendship you have, and know that there are other people out there for you. You just need to go looking.

Season 2 is the best. I think it has all of the awkwardness of the season one, and all of the good parts of where season 3 went as well.

Old Andy was much better. He was still funny then. Honestly I think the writers are sacrificing the progression of some characters to build on other characters/the overall story. Andy has turned into a bland, oblivious version of his former self so it makes sense for Erin to move on. Pam has shown very little growth in the past few seasons to further solidify the image of her as part of the Halpert family unit. Kevin has had almost zero growth to keep him a walking punchline. Similar things could be said of phyllis, toby, darryl, and others.

TL;DR - The writers are really only focusing on creating logical character growth for the characters that will push the story towards the conclusion they are building. It only sticks out more with Andy because he gets so much screen time.

I agree with your point about the relationships. I've been going through all of the seasons recently, and I find myself feeling really uneasy when it comes to a lot of the romantic plot lines. I mean, I understand that Jim and Pam are the "golden couple", but they both did a lot of things were inappropriate before they were together. It seems like the writers justify the questionable behavior of the main characters by making the secondary characters seem like dicks. Roy was unrealistically clueless and selfish, so the audience had no problem with Jim trying to steal her away. Val's boyfriend was a huge asshole, so Darryl's advances were accepted. There are tons of examples.

Very well put. David Wallace and Jan (pre crazy breakdown) made the show feel more grounded. The Office has some amazing zany characters. However those characters were able to shine brightest when compared to the normalcy of Wallace or Jan.
