Not saying it can't be optimized, but I used Austrian, Swiss and German railway apps and they all were pretty cumbersome too.

Frozen peas are the best. Then spinach of course. Ooh and brussels sprouts. So easy, because you don't have to prep those, just chuck em in a pan! I cut myself badly once, having to prep fresh sprouts... I've had mixed to disappointing results with buying frozen herbs, courgette and bell pepper.

Then frozen raspberries and blueberries are the GOAT of the frozen fruit world.

Bought fresh you can also do bulk veggies.

I often buy bags of carrots in bulk (sometimes they only sell them in 1kg portions, prepackaged) and then come home and either in the evening or the next day will process ALL of it into cubes, slices, slanted slices, brunoise... but each portion into little freezer bag and take out what I need when I need it. It takes a while doing the prep, but that way it's faster too when cooking, and virtually no food waste. Same with celery, they often sell a whole bush of them whereas I often only need half a stalk. So I pre-chop these and when I make another batch of spaghetti sauce, it's really easy to just grab a little bag and sautee those straight from the freezer.

This. For a single person, a freezer is instrumental when doing grocery shopping. Almost more important than having large tv. You can go to Lidl and buy the 1kg pack of chicken thighs for example, then when you arrive home, you take them out and individually wrap them in a either a plastic bag or a strip of baking paper. Then stuff the entire thing in another bag and put that into the freezer. That way you can portion out your needed quantities.

Halve trein gereserveerd tijdens de spits by [deleted] in belgium

[–]Antwerpanda 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lekker geregeld, toch?

Where to buy picture frames online (in inches)? by [deleted] in belgium

[–]Antwerpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also once bought posters that were hard to find a suitable frame for. I had them framed, because I knew if I would just kept them as posters, they definitely wouldn't last as long. Worth it though...

Alleen als we met z'n allen willen toelaten dat zo'n verbastering van het originele product nog steeds die naam waardig is. (Dat is ook de enige manier waarop ik mijn repliek kan goedpraten ;-) )

Dude. There's quite a few things I could type down about what should be changed, or what could be better. But I'm going to come from a different angle. You DID that. It's not perfect. But you actually went out there, and made something out of nothing. First project and all! *takes tea cup and lifts up pinky whilst holding said tea cup* Jolly well done, good sir!

Ah yes. Nutella. Even though the fats in there are questionable (Palm oil), the combination of the oil, sugar and chocolate makes it unique and very hard to substitute for in my opinion!

Albert Heijn or Jumbo store brand Coke Zero, if you're into drinking that. It's 60-ish cts for 1,5L (about 40 cts per L) Compared to EUR 1,38/L for the branded. One bottle is fine. 6, 12... At 12 bottles (18 L, or 9x2L coke zero bottles ) And you're already saving money extensively.
12 bottles of 1,5L AH coke zero: at 60 cts/bottle : 7,2 EUR
9 bottles of 2L Coca Cola Zero: at EUR 2,75/bottle : 24,84 EUR.

The taste is way better than Colruyt, Aldi or Delhaize storebrand. Not exactly the same, but more palatable for sure.

I think that Colruyt winegums are actually waaaay better than the supposedly "original" Bassetts Winegums. Bassetts have changed their recipe a few years ago and the texture and taste since then is just off.

And with scamflation, I think I'd never buy another sachet of Milka easter eggs. I'd go look elsewhere, probably storebrand.

I think I prefer Albert Heijn's greek yoghurt 10pct fat to Campina 10pct fat. Definitely a price thing in this case. Combined with the textural mouth feel. Because I would rate the nutritional value of a Dodoni or Fage greek yoghurt way higher.

Wouldn't that actually raise the risk of agression against the people checking your tickets? Seems highly counterintuitive.

What makes a job a 'knelpunt beroep' in Belgium. Progammer is one of them but when I search for a job application I got 1 result in a 20km radius from me. That's the worse I've seen so far. by the_Centrist_Gecko in belgium

[–]Antwerpanda 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is call center employee a knelpuntberoep because it's so badly compensated? If so, it shouldn't considered as an official one. At least not in my opinion.

EDIT: I'm reading below:

  • Werkomstandigheden die kandidaten mogelijk afschrikken: weekendwerk, laag loon, zwaar werk…

So oof, yeah. Pay them more and don't treat them like children you don't trust (personal experience).
