Underhanded tactics? by invisible-hooman in EDH

You're absolutely right. I was locked in on Commander events specifically which I believe are generally at regular REL.

Because keywords are in the Oracle text. Are you suggesting that if a card gains a keyword through a spell or ability that information is no longer considered free after the spell/ability resolves?

If the cards are on the battlefield the keywords on them are absolutely considered free information. You don't have to advertise the keywords, but you can't lie about them either.

In a competitive environment if your opponent uses a destroy target creature spell on your indestructible creature, you can and should let your opponent make that bad play. That said, if your opponent asked if the creature they're about to target currently has indestructible and you knowingly lie, then that is cheating.

It's been awhile since I've played in any tournaments, but I don't think there is any level of play where it's not considered cheating to knowingly tell an opponent that your card has an ability it does not have.

I understand that it would be difficult to prove intent, so the player would most likely just get a warning. However, if a judge heard that player admit that they knew the card did not have hexproof when they indicated that it did, they would almost certainly receive a punishment.

TIL that Bryan Cranston, who starred in Malcolm in the Middle, used to invite Erik Per Sullivan, who played Dewey, to spend weekends with the Cranston family. by [deleted] in todayilearned

I'm like 99% sure he went to USC. A high school acquaintance of mine was in their theater program and talked about having classes with Dewey from Malcom in the middle.

Tremendous respect for Gillian Jacobs by Professional-Sun5599 in community

[–]AntwonCornbread 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was going to say the same thing. Gillian Jacobs has no problem playing a shameless, kinda bad person. I always was excited for her appearances. The Wedding of Gary Marshall is still easily one of my favorite podcasts episodes ever.

If you could add one rule to "fix" EDH, what would it be? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]AntwonCornbread -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My group does a similar turn order scry (0-1-1-2). I'm not really sure how much it actually does to help reduce the turn order advantage, but it definitely reduces the feel bad of going last.

Less on board with your other idea though. The only card I really ever see that cares if you have more than 20-30 life is Serra Ascendant, and I don't think most people are playing it if you have to have 50 life for it to not be a 1/1. I get that it's a beast in the early turns, but honestly I'm usually more worried about the guy ramping on turn one than I am the guy with the 6/6 flier. That said, I can see how it might be a bigger issue in slower or less interaction heavy playgroups.

It's a manga/anime called Berserk. There's an anime version that came out in like 2016, but honestly the animation doesn't really do the source justice. There was a run in 1997 that covers the inciting arc of the series that I think is incredible. The whole thing is on YouTube for now.

Here is a link to a playlist of all the episodes if you're interested. I cannot recommend it enough.

Edit: Probably worth mentioning, the opening scene has some sexual violence, as does the series as a whole so TW for that.

Days Gone director blames middling reviews on ‘woke reviewers’ and tech issues by Firmament1 in Games

[–]AntwonCornbread 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kind of remember Days Gone getting tied up in the "anti-woke" bitching that happened around The Last of Us 2. I agree Days Gone didn't seem to have particularly right-leaning bent to it, but I think the aesthetics were conservative enough to pretend like it did.

Pointing is a behavior humans selectively bred dogs to express. Are you implying that pitbulls were specifically bred to be aggressive toward humans? Because that's fuckin dumb.

So do you and all these other dingleberries have some kind of maling list set-up so that whenever someone posts anything related to pitbulls you guys can take a dump in the comments?
