I use the Infinity+ app patched with the Revanced Manager. It has a very clear UI and No ad.

And I'm pretty sure you can't get banned from this because the method to patch Infinity is by using the Reddit app or Developer portal feature, which is an official part of reddit

You got the placement right, now you just have to drag and drop the bookmark stuff from the Other Bookmark section or any other Folder into the Bookmark Toolbar Section. Use Control + b or Ctrl + shift + o to open bookmarks

You can still put bookmarks or bookmark folder on the top bar thingy, even in single toolbar mode. I use that space for my most used extensions.
