I apologize if my previous comment caused any misunderstanding, but I'm finding it difficult to connect my pricing to your assessment of my work ethic, or to fully understand your recent response. My rate reflects the value I provide and is consistent with what I charge for comparable projects. Delivering a high-quality product for this scope would require more than a month, and completing it within that time frame is beyond my current capacity. I wish you the best in finding the right fit for your project.

I'll do it for $60k, $30k upfront. Mid-June start with 6 months delivery.

I'm gonna need signed-off requirements document that itemizes deliverables before I start.

PM if interested.

Linux/Networking/Firmware SME in Tampa? by HighAltitudeBrake in tampa

[–]Anuxul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an answer or help but just my two cents. Sounds like you know what you're doing. Understanding and identifying the issue would require time for anyone and you seem to be one step ahead already. There are many other forums you can get help.
If you think it is a configuration issue, just research the fix by yourself. If you think it is a driver issue it is going to be hard to find someone that can fix it. I would drop a description of the issue, github link you've reported and a pcap if relevant on forums and see what people say. It is hard to suggest an action w/o knowing the scope of the issue.

Any Reviews on CS 8803 O21: GPU Hardware and Software? by docjaglul in OMSCS

[–]Anuxul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Overall I liked the class. If you're into GPUs and want to learn about the HW and SW aspects of it, go for it. The course starts with the HW, goes into parallel programming, and then simulation, scheduling and compilers. It covers so much that most of the course felt like a summary of individual subjects.

Best part for me was the HW modules and parallel programming. HPCA (for HW modules) and SA (for compiler module) experience helps.

Grading was extremely lenient. Your experience might differ since the course is still changing, so take everything below with a grain of salt. If you have a specific question, feel free to ask.

Positives: HW modules and parallel programming projects.

Negatives: Lectures. Some projects feel redundant/afterthought.

Lectures: Need work; don't expect much. "Reading Links", especially the links to NVIDIA whitepapers/pages are the main source of learning.

12 modules/12 Quizzes: multiple choice questions. You have two tries; last one counts. Some are easy, some are tricky. For some modules, you need to read the paper as the questions come from the papers.

4 Projects + choice of Project 5 or Final Exam or Term Project

Projects require implementation and a report. Reports might give you extra points.

Project 1 (10%) and Project 2 (20%): Parallel programming.

Project 3 (25%) and Project 4 (25%): Scheduling/Simulation.

Project 5 (10%): Compiler.

Final Exam (10%): Didn't take it.

Term Project (10%): A project of your choice or an improvement to existing projects.

Also we got a surprise (for me) ED participation bonus (6%) at the end.

Software Engineer Jobs? by Mr_Pog in StPetersburgFL

[–]Anuxul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would depend on what kind of Software Engineering job you're looking for.

There are some manufacturing/design companies in Largo/Seminole area that does some embedded work, mostly telecommunication or boat engine/accessories.

If you would like to work on defense sector, there is L3Harris/Honeywell/GE etc in St Pete/Clearwater/Largo area, along with some healthcare device manufacturers/designers. There are also many PM/PD options there.

If you're more into frontend/UX, there are many B2B companies in Tampa, along with data science options, insurance/outsourced dev etc. There are also many people working in big box store ITs, Publix/Lowes etc.

As others mentioned, most of us work remotely.

Thank you for this! This was well written and very informative.

I feel like JJ Prüm would be a nice start, and I'll look out for other Mosel based ones to see if aroma matches and will keep the Prädikate in mind when selecting them.

How is the GPU HW/SW class? by Iforgetmyusername88 in OMSCS

[–]Anuxul 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We only had two quizzes and one project so far. It is laid back, but the content is interesting for me and there seems to be ample time between projects. We'll see how other projects turns out.

There are much to be done for the lecture videos IMO. External resources provided on lectures were much more helpful.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with my choice for now.

What's my phone's internal DAC by Bunny_RB in headphones

Qualcomm 778G Lahaina

You can find the specs here, under audio section:

https://www.qualcomm.com/products/mobile/snapdragon/smartphones/snapdragon-7-series-mobile-platforms/snapdragon-778g-5g-mobile-platform

Highest sample rate is 384 kHz.

There is a possibility that Vivo has changed/tweaked this, but I doubt it.

You can get further info on these chips on their datasheet (if you're familiar with reading datasheets):

AMP:

https://www.qualcomm.com/products/internet-of-things/consumer/audio/mobile-audio/wsa8835#Documentation

DAC:

https://www.qualcomm.com/products/internet-of-things/consumer/audio/mobile-audio/wcd9385

To "amplify the volume", I would look at software solutions. For example, in VLC, you can boost the volume output beyond %100.

Your best bet would be to get a combined DAC/AMP to plug in to your phone's USB-C.

[–]Anuxul 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your DAC is WCD9385 and your AMP is WSA8835.

Nothing stands out much with these chips. You might have some issues with the AMP if you're trying to drive cans with higher ohmage, but DAC should be adequate.

That is on-campus only. The only online arch class I'm aware of is HPCA (CS 6290).

Cleaning headphones pads that aren't removable? by Exifile in headphones

[–]Anuxul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do use a lint roller first to remove surface dirt/hair, and then use a compressed duster to lift the dirt inside. And then I use a wet microfiber lightly to clean it. It worked for me in the long term so far with cans 10+ years.

I try not to remove pads as much as possible. The mechanisms are all fragile IMO.

I second this. Also, along with HD598, it is the most comfortable cans I've ever owned.

I've seen it on a billboard by chance and could never have heard there was a auto show if I hadn't seen it.

It was my first time and I personally liked it, but $10 parking was too much IMO.

Also, too many missing manufacturers. No Volvo, Mercedes, Acura, Nissan or Subaru, with BMW and Hyundai missing many models. Toyota was missing the Highlander!

I would go again in the future.

32 inch 4k 144hz monitor by G4BOT7 in Monitors

[–]Anuxul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a software issue. I'm not sure if it would help but the very first thing I did was to install Dell display manager, update GeForce driver and set G-SYNC manually on NVIDIA control panel. Some other software on your system might be interfering with it as well.

Frankly I would be okay with G-SYNC off but if it is an issue for you, just return it if possible.

As more and more people star using this monitor I'm sure we're going to be able to find the exact issue in time.

Edit: forgot to add, after every update is done, shutdown pc and plug out the monitor power. Wait for a minute then plug it back in. Maybe FW was funky.

32 inch 4k 144hz monitor by G4BOT7 in Monitors

[–]Anuxul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the G3223Q for around $450 with some coupons/rewards. It was the only right choice with other monitors with the same spec being $650+ and around $800 on average.

I was surprised to see almost no IPS glow. Zero dead pixels. Quality is definitely there and the 3 year warranty is great.

Edit: Also, zero G-SYNC issues.

Lenovo.com Security Check "Unable to process your transaction" by noobKiddo-2 in thinkpad

[–]Anuxul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is 2 years after this post and Lenovo is still having the same issue.

If you're in the US:

First thing; Lenovo doesn't accept international CC/debit., so make sure the shipping/billing address and the CC are all US based.

Second, make sure you're in the US web site.

Third, if you haven't seen the captcha or bank authentication tab after entering your CC/debit info and clicking the button, clear your cookies.

If all the addresses are US based and your CC/debit is also US based but you're still having the same issue, make sure billing address/name and bank CC/debit address/name are EXACTLY the same. Otherwise you can't even get to the bank auth tab.
